In the 70s of the last century, Valery Obodzinsky was one of the most popular Soviet performers. His hits were listened to and sang by the whole country. Many of the popular compositions, first performed by Obodzinsky, subsequently tried to include other singers in their repertoire. But none of them managed to achieve the same glory.

From the biography of Valery Obodzinsky

The future pop singer was born in Odessa on January 24, 1942. The war was in full swing. Valery's parents went to the front, his grandmother raised him. When Odessa was occupied by the Germans, the boy almost died: the fascist soldier wanted to deal with the boy, suspecting him of theft.

The boy's desire for creativity was noticeable to those around him, but his difficult post-war childhood did not allow him to study music. And yet Valery mastered playing the guitar on his own and even moonlighted on the street, performing musical compositions.

Obodzinsky began his career as a fireman. Then he made furniture fittings. And even made a voyage on the motor ship "Admiral Nakhimov" as an entertainer.

Creativity in the life of Valery Obodzinsky

Valery came into contact with creativity at the age of 17: the young man was invited to star in an episode of the film "Chernomorochka". In the end, he did not become an actor, but participation in the filming allowed Obodzinsky to better realize that his soul is drawn to high art.

When the opportunity arose, Valery moved to Tomsk, where he entered a music school and mastered the double bass. In Tomsk, Obodzinsky first appeared on the big stage - the stage of the local philharmonic society became it. Later Valery tried himself as a vocalist. Obodzinsky took part in the activities of the popular Lundstrem Orchestra, with which he traveled all over the country.

Valery came to real success after touring the Primorsky Territory and Siberia in 1967. And after a trip to Bulgaria, Obodzinsky released an LP, the entire circulation of which quickly sold out. Valery became popular not only in the USSR, but also abroad.

The public's interest in the work of Obodzinsky is explained by his special manner of performing songs, velvety and lyrical timbre of his voice. But the singer has never specially trained in vocals. He has always used his innate musical flair and excellent hearing.

Obodzinsky was distinguished by enormous efficiency and tirelessness: he could work out the same verse for hours, achieving the perfect sound of the composition.

In the 70s, Obodzinsky gained incredible popularity in the Soviet Union. Many of his songs have survived to this day. Among them: "Eastern Song", "These eyes are opposite", "Leaf fall".

Obodzinsky successfully performed songs of foreign pop masters. In doing so, they gave them their own unique style.

The singer was always dissatisfied with the beggarly fees, although his work brought a lot of money to the treasury. Added to this was Obodzinsky's passion for foreign music. All this caused discontent in those circles that determined the musical policy in the USSR. As a result, Valery Vladimirovich was suspended from creative activity for a long time and was even groundlessly accused of wanting to emigrate.

The decline of Valery Obodzinsky's career

Unable to do what he loved, Obodzinsky became addicted to alcohol. One of the country's leading performers was forced to work as a watchman at a textile factory.

Valery returned to creativity only in 1994, having released a CD with compositions from Vertinsky's repertoire. This was followed by a concert in Moscow, which had an unprecedented success. After that, Obodzinsky was able to travel around the country with his songs.

However, a new career takeoff did not take place. The famous singer died suddenly in his sleep from heart failure. Obodzinsky passed away on April 26, 1997.

Valery was officially married only once. He and Nelly Kuchkildina had two daughters. However, subsequently, a crisis in creativity undermined family happiness - the marriage union fell apart.

After that, Anna Yesenina became Valeria's common-law wife, who made a lot of efforts to ensure that Obodzinsky returned to the stage.
