Biography

Evgeny Morgunov was born in the Soviet capital. He grew up very active and was a ringleader among his many friends. As a teenager, Eugene faced the horrors of the outbreak of war: his father went to the front, where he soon died. The young man had to help his mother, and he worked for a long time at a military plant, making ammunition for the Soviet army. At the same time, he was very fond of movies, often visiting the cinema. So the idea of becoming an actor was born. According to some information, only a letter to Stalin himself helped Yevgeny leave the factory and start playing on the stage of the Chamber Theater.

Having successfully established himself as a talented actor, Morgunov entered VGIK, where he received the necessary education. Soon he made his debut in Sergei Gerasimov's film "Young Guard", where he brilliantly coped with the proposed role. Despite this, the directors stubbornly ignored the young man, and only in the early 50s he was offered the role of an unnamed character nicknamed Experienced in the short film by Leonid Gaidai "Dog-Watchdog and an Unusual Cross" and its sequel "Moonshiners".

In 1964, the popular trinity starred in Eldar Ryazanov's film Give a Complaints Book. This was followed by roles in Gaidai's legendary comedies "Operation Y …" and "Prisoner of the Caucasus". Experienced also appeared in the project "Comedy of Bygone Days", as well as in the famous cartoon "The Bremen Town Musicians". Unfortunately, in the 80s, Yevgeny Morgunov was among the actors who ceased to be in demand. From time to time he appeared in subtle roles, and also performed in theaters, but the main films with his participation were already behind.

Personal life and death

Evgeny Morgunov was married twice. His first wife was the dancer Varvara Ryabtseva, who turned out to be 13 years older than him. The couple never managed to find a common language and soon broke up. In 1965, Morgunov married a woman named Natalya. In this marriage, children Anton and Nikolai were born. Unfortunately, the latter died in a car accident.

It is known that the actor was very worried about being unclaimed. He was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, which caused him to gain excess weight. In addition, Eugene, having fallen into depression, began to abuse alcohol. In the 90s, he suffered two heart attacks, as well as a stroke. The precarious health of the actor has sagged even more after the loss of his son.

On June 25, 199, Evgeny Alexandrovich suffered another stroke, which became fatal for him: the actor, beloved by many, died in one of the Moscow hospitals. The funeral took place at the Kuntsevo cemetery in front of a large crowd of people. The actor was buried next to his son.
