From biography
Smolina Irina Aleksandrovna was born in Leningrad in 1964. The family raised her in such a way that she herself must do everything, not count on anyone, not depend on the circumstances.
From childhood I was interested in entertainments. She liked to be the host of children's parties, including concerts of a music school. In 1977 she starred in the film Wait for Me, Islands! She was very good at dubbing. When it came time for career guidance, she dreamed of connecting life with performing arts. But at the family council, the father strongly protested. The daughter began to look through all the faculties. This is how journalism came to be.
Work on radio and television
She worked as a student at the Leningrad radio, and devoted more than a decade to this business. It was a real center of general and linguistic culture. Literacy was monitored so that most of the time she did not part with the orthoepic dictionary.
It was a difficult time. "Perestroika" began, because of which Irina stopped feeling joy and inspiration from work. At some point, she realized that something needed to be changed. She was sure that if one door closes, another opens. And the television door opened in front of her, behind which her career began.

Her designs were popular. "Petersburg Silhouette" opened many names in the fashion world, laid the foundation for professional shows in the city.
Soon, the "Gossip Chronicle" program appeared, which became a real cultural event: it covered not only the news, but also talked about the creative personalities of the city. Until now, I. Smolina hears from people that they kindly remember this program and miss it.
Entertainer
Irina is also known as an entertainer. Communicating with the artists, she met the actor Nikolai Pozdeev. They held a show, and it turned out that they understand each other perfectly. Irina was at first skeptical about all this, and then decided - this is the historical memory of the city. And for herself, she came up with a pseudonym - "holiday man". One day, he and Nikolai began to remember where they had not yet been. And they realized that there are almost no such people. The concerts conducted by these two specialists are filled with warmth, subtle grace of improvisation.
Business lady
In the late 90s, Irina realized that she needed to move somewhere, not sit. "Gossip Chronicle" helped her find friends - members of the world association of women entrepreneurs FCEM. This organization brought together women who decided to start their own business. Acquaintance with them prompted her to create her own business. She opened a party and video production studio.
There were acquaintances, connections, performances, but there were no business skills and a tight wallet. The direction was related to what she knew how to do. The banal phrase that first a person works for a name, and then a name for him, has become a reality for Irina. The name helped her. But she did many things by touch, was largely naive. She learned not from strangers, but from her mistakes. A lot of my journalism skills came in handy.
From the very beginning, she determined for herself that she would work honestly. I have always been convinced that the consumer component should not determine the development of a person.

Irina is absorbed in her work. Everything is so dear to her that it takes four-fifths of her life.
The project "Woman of the Year" brings together women of all ages, interests and professions. This event is attended by foreign delegations. Participants discuss issues of women's entrepreneurship, the role of women in modern society.
Irina believes that the "Man of the Year" project is a trend of the times. The competition is democratic. Participation from 18 years old. There are no age restrictions. There was an application from a man who turned 100 years old.
An important project was "White Nights for All". Parquet was laid for wheelchair dancing and wheelchair volleyball. If wheelchair users find the strength to cope with stress, they need to be supported. The festival received a good response. The wheelchair users themselves said:

The annual publication of the “Big Book of St. Petersburg” has become a sacred tradition, which is transferred to the archives for safekeeping. It has event materials plus 50 pages of pictures of the city to see how it is changing.
From personal life
Irina is married. There is a son Dmitry. Programs that he watches for relaxation - KVN, about the kitchen, about how people plant flowers. Sleep, books and swimming are the best rest for her.
