Talent alone is not enough to be successful in any kind of creativity. Larisa Mondrus, an amazing singer with a voice with a characteristic timbre, began her career in the Soviet Union. She was able to achieve international recognition by moving to Germany.
Childhood
The future pop star was born on November 15, 1943 in the city of Dzhambul. Parents at that time lived, as they say today, lived in a civil marriage. The mother was an inexperienced eighteen year old girl. My father was trained at a military aviation school. After completing the training course, Israel Mondrus received the rank of lieutenant and departed for the place of further service. After that, neither his wife nor daughter ever saw him. Alimony, which the military pilot sent to his daughter, was barely enough for two bottles of milk.
After some time, the mother met a young man named Harri Matsliak. After the end of the war, the three of them moved to Harry's homeland in the city of Riga. Here Larisa went to school. From an early age, the girl demonstrated excellent musical and vocal abilities. The house had a large collection of gramophone records with recordings of domestic and foreign performers. Larisa actively participated in amateur art shows. She sang in the choir. In parallel with vocal lessons, I managed to attend the rhythmic gymnastics section.
Professional activity
After leaving school, Mondrus decided to get a specialized education at a local music school. In 1962, after a severe test, the certified singer was accepted as a soloist of the Riga Pop Orchestra. The artistic director and conductor of the orchestra was Egil Schwarz, who was a close friend of Raymond Pauls. Larisa found herself in a creative environment, which allowed her talent to be revealed in a short time. Pauls wrote several songs especially for the aspiring performer, including "Blue Linen" and "Lake District".
Soon Larisa and Egil entered into a legal marriage. And in 1964, the creative couple was invited to work in the Eddie Rosner Orchestra. The couple moved to Moscow. The popularity of the charming and talented actress grew by leaps and bounds. She toured the country a lot, and in between trips she recorded songs on the radio and recording studios. Mondrus' creative career was developing quite successfully, but she had ill-wishers in the highest echelons of power.
Emigration and recognition
After much thought and hesitation, Larisa and her husband decided to leave the USSR. In 1973, the couple received exit visas and moved to the German city of Munich. Mondrus, with her characteristic energy, began performing at various venues. Four years later, she became a famous singer in all European countries. The fact is that Larisa sang songs in almost all European languages.
The singer's personal life has developed well. She lives with her first and only husband. They had a son, Lauren, who works at the BMW carmaker. In 2015, Larisa became a grandmother, she had two granddaughters, Laura and Emilia.
