And he wrote and writes his works about the war based on his own experience, experiences and impressions.
Youth at the forefront
Figuratively speaking, the biography of Yuri Vasilyevich Bondarev is straightforward, like the flight of an arrow. The future writer was born in the city of Orsk, which is located in the Orenburg steppes, on March 15, 1924. My father worked in law enforcement. He was transferred to a new place of service, and the family moved seven years after the birth of the child to Moscow. Yuri quickly adapted to the new conditions. Like many young people of that generation, he went in for sports, passed the TRP standards, prepared for military service. He joined the Komsomol and took an active part in all events. In those years, imitating the venerable writers, the young man kept a diary. We can say that keeping a diary was fashionable. When the war began, Yuri had not yet completed his studies at school.
He had to complete his education in evacuation. And immediately he was enrolled in the infantry school, which was based in Aktyubinsk. At the end of the courses, in the fall of 1942, Lieutenant Bondarev was sent to Stalingrad and appointed commander of a mortar crew. Here he received his first wound. According to many front-line soldiers, war is hard, exhausting work. After recovering, he was again at the forefront. The calculation of the gun under the command of Senior Lieutenant Bondarev was among the first units to cross the Dnieper.
Moments of creativity
Bondarev did not think about his writing career. From the ranks of the Soviet Army, he was fired from injury in December 1945. It was necessary to adapt to peacetime and find their place in life. It is important to emphasize that in front-line conditions, Yuri Vasilyevich managed to regularly make entries in his diary. On the advice of a close friend, he began to process these recordings and entered the Literary Institute. Love to work with the word has won. The first stories were published in the Smena, Ogonyok and other periodicals magazines.
In the mid-50s, the novel "The Youth of Commanders" was published. And literally a year later, another significant event for the country - the magazine version of the story "The battalions are asking for fire." It is important to emphasize that these works were read and evaluated by the participants in the war. Front-line soldiers, home front workers, and those who were children in those days. Discussions were held in the press, and in the kitchen, and on the heap. No one has reproached the author for falsehood or opportunistic interests. Many films have been filmed based on the works of Yuri Bondarev.
The picture "Hot Snow" still serves as a role model for modern directors. Bondarev, as one of the screenwriters, participated in the creation of the epic "Liberation". I must also say that Yuri Vasilyevich received his party card in 1944. And he remained a member of the CPSU until the collapse of the Soviet Union. Little is known about the writer's personal life.
