Self-raising fathers can count on the same benefits and benefits that single mothers receive. But not all the circumstances in which a man acquires the status of a single father is legally recognized and gives a legal right to receive all the benefits due.
Single father
The term "single father" is not spelled out in Russian law. But as a result of the deprivation of parental rights of the child's mother, her death, a long stay in a medical clinic or in another case of her prolonged absence and the abandonment of the child (children) in the custody of the father, the latter is entitled to all benefits paid to single mothers.
Legally, only a male widower is a single father. And in the case when the dishonest mother abandoned her family and children, from the point of view of the law, she exists and has legal force, and she is legally listed on the child's birth certificate. In this case, the father cannot be considered a loner. In this situation, a man will have to prove his status as a single father, involving the guardianship authorities or through the courts. Only after that, having the appropriate package of documents in hand, the man will be legally recognized as a single father, who is entitled to all benefits and benefits, as a single parent.
Benefits under the Labor Code of the Russian Federation for single fathers
If a man has in his hands all the necessary documents that legally confirm his status as a single father, he is entitled to maternity leave and child support for up to one and a half years. To arrange this payment, the father must contact the administration at his place of work. Parental leave can be used by a single father in whole or in parts. On maternity leave, a man can work part-time, part-time, or at home. In this case, all due payments and benefits are saved. A single father can only be involved in work on holidays and weekends, as well as overtime work and night shifts by an employer with his own consent. If a single dad is raising a disabled child, then he is entitled to an additional four days off every month, paid by the employer.
Social payments for single dads
To receive a one-time payment after the birth of a child, a single father must submit the necessary package of documents and an application for calculating this benefit to social protection. Also, a single dad can receive compensation for the payment for the maintenance of the child (children) in nurseries and kindergartens. As for housing, if a single father lives with a child in a service apartment or a dormitory, then in case of dismissal, it is prohibited to evict them without providing other housing.
Also, a single father is entitled to monthly compensation benefits and a double tax deduction.
