Nikolai Ivanovich was born into a musical family. Although his mother was an accountant, his father was an employee, this did not prevent his parents from playing amazing music in the evenings. The family lived in Stary Oskol, and after sunset beautiful music poured from the windows of their house. Nikolai's father played the violin, and his mother accompanied the piano. So the husband and wife introduced the children to the beautiful.

It is not surprising that Nikolai, born in March 1894, absorbed enchanting sounds from infancy. Another elder brother of Nikolai Ivanovich played the cello, he was a teacher at a gymnasium, and then a conductor. The boys' sister played wonderfully on the piano, and when Kolya was five years old, his mother began to teach him the art of playing this instrument.

Professionally, Nikolai began to study music at the gymnasium when the family moved to the city of Korochi. In this educational institution, he mastered the basics of playing the clarinet and violin.

When the head of the family was gone, our hero began to bring income to the family by studying with his classmates.

The child was very sensitive, he loved nature. To improve his musical skills, he sometimes went to the river or to the forest. In these places, the young genius played the violin, and then independently mastered the flute.

It so happened that after the family moved to Moscow, Nikolai Ivanovich went to study at the university in a completely different specialty. He chose law faculty, but at the same time played in the orchestra and was a member of the art workers union.

In 1918, the mother of the family died. The son did not have the opportunity to finish his studies at the university and returned to Novy Oskol. But later he still graduated. Creation

Platonov voluntarily went to the Army, where he worked in a newspaper, and then received the position of head of the political department. Demobilized, he was in charge of a music school in Novy Oskol. When Platonov graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, having perfectly mastered the art of playing the flute, he devoted himself to teaching and composing. He also served in the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra.

Platonov is the first of the woodworms to become a certified doctor of art history. He defended his dissertation with brilliance and is a graduate of the Paris Conservatory.
