In 2000, Eminem played himself in the film Da Hip Hop Witch. The film is a parody of the Blair Witch horror movie. While everyone fears the terrible Blair witch, a new threat emerges - the Hip-Hop Witch. The heroine of the film is a journalist who, with the help of her friends, decided to find out the whole truth about the witch.
In 2001, Eminem starred in a cameo role in the hip-hop comedy Sink, but Curtis Hanson's film The 8th Mile (2002) is considered his official acting debut.

However, it shows rather a generalized image of any aspiring white rapper. Mile 8 brought Eminem both commercial and professional success. In 2003, he was awarded an Oscar for the best song from the film - Lose Yourself, which, along with the title song of the film, is still considered the standard of rap culture to this day. True, the song was not performed at the ceremony due to the absence of the author himself. In the same year, he received the MTV Movie Awards for Best Actor and Best Male Breakthrough of the Year.
As a guest star, Eminem, along with Christina Aguilera, took part in the finale of the seventh season of the series "Handsome". In 2009, Eminem appeared in the role of himself in the movie "Funny People". In 2013, he starred as hitman Paladin in the crime drama Find Adventure with Your Gun, and also created the soundtrack for this film.
