According to some critics, anyone can become a writer. But whether his works will be read is a separate question. Elena Chizhova began writing in adulthood. This is how the stars were formed. Her books are in demand.
At the turn of the eras
The mature writer has his own style of presenting a topic. This style has evolved over time. Elena Chizhova was born on May 4, 1957 in an intelligent family. Parents lived in Leningrad. Both father and mother worked at a research institute. The girl grew up smart and active. Already in kindergarten she was engaged in dancing. I learned to read early. She studied well at school. Lena's favorite subjects were English, literature and mathematics.
After graduating from school, at the insistence of her parents, Chizhova entered the economic department of a local university. Having received higher education, she remained in graduate school at the Department of Production Management and defended her Ph. D. thesis. Elena Semyonovna's scientific and teaching career was developing well. As part of the preparation of her doctoral dissertation, she has been abroad. However, in the early 90s, the situation in the national economy changed dramatically.
Literary activity
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many industrial enterprises were destroyed or privatized. Ph. D. in economics, in order to somehow survive, she went into small business. Several years spent on these studies did not bring Chizhova either material prosperity or moral satisfaction. It was during this chronological period that detective stories, thrillers and women's novels began to appear in large numbers on the book market. Watching this process, Elena tried to "take up the pen."
Not to say that creativity captivated her. It's just that the first novel, "Little Tsakhes," met with unexpectedly enthusiastic reviews from critics. Chizhova received the Northern Palmyra Prize for her work. Compared to the income from doing business, the money received helped mend the gaps in the family budget. The success inspired the aspiring writer. The following text, entitled “Lavra”, was shortlisted for the famous Russian Booker Prize. Elena organically joined the social and literary movement.
Personal life plots
In 2009, Elena Chizhova's novel was awarded the Russian Booker Prize. The writer went to this result purposefully. First, I chose a topic demanded by the customer. Secondly, she outlined a circle of main characters who do not go beyond the boundaries of the place where the described events take place. The peculiarities of the creative process boil down to the fact that the writer invents all her characters. And he does not hide it.
In her personal life, Chizhova has a relative order. She lives legally. Husband and wife adhere to the same political, moral and ethical positions. Elena has two adult daughters. The writer does not explain where they live and what they do.
