At a certain stage in the development of the country and society, corresponding musical works are played on the air. As the famous Soviet singer Yuri Bogatikov said in an interview: what time - such songs and such people.
Starting conditions
A talented person is destined for a difficult path to the realization of these abilities by nature. Not everyone has the strength and endurance to overcome the obstacles facing him. Yuri Iosifovich Bogatikov was born on February 29, 1932 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in a small mining town on the territory of Donbass. My father worked in a coal mine. Mother taught literature at school. The head of the family had a good voice and ear for music. He often sang folk songs, and the children willingly sang along with him.
When the war began, my father was mobilized into the active army. And the mother and children were evacuated to Uzbekistan. I managed to return home only after the victory. Father died a heroic death at the front. In order to somehow feed the children, the Bogatikovs moved to the city of Kharkov. Here, after finishing the seventh grade, Yura entered a vocational school, and received the specialty of a mechanic for the repair of measuring instruments. He was sent to work in the central office of the city telegraph. In his spare time, he attended choral studio classes at the local palace of culture.
Creative career
Yuri Bogatikov had a voice of a unique timbre. This fact was not even noticed by specialists. After a while, the director of the Kharkov Telegraph strongly advised the young man to enter a music school. And even promised material support from the enterprise. At the school, Bogatikov was given a voice and a habit of daily activities. In 1951 he was drafted into the army. It fell to serve a boy from Donbass in the Pacific Fleet. He was immediately enrolled in the naval song and dance ensemble. The experience of performing in a variety of conditions was useful to him in the future.
After returning from service, Bogatikov was invited to work at the Kharkov Theater of Musical Comedy. But the future pop singer did not stay there for long. After a while, he received an invitation and went to work at the Lugansk Philharmonic. From that moment, Yuri Bogatikov's forward movement to the heights of skill and glory began. Gradually, he found his niche in pop art. The singer convincingly performed songs of military-patriotic themes. Among the popular songs were “I haven’t been to Donbass for a long time”, “Don't cry girl”, “Dark mounds are sleeping”.
Recognition and privacy
It is important to note that the singer never allowed himself to perform with a phonogram. Thanks to his voice and well-chosen repertoire, Bogatikov effortlessly won prizes at international competitions and festivals. For his great contribution to the development of musical art, he was awarded the honorary title of "People's Artist of the USSR".
The singer's personal life took shape only on the third attempt. Daughter Victoria from her first marriage followed in her father's footsteps and became an artist. Yuri Bogatikov died in December 2002 after a long illness.
