In the early seventies, the Norwegian singer Anita Hegerland was called a child star. In the eighties, the adult vocalist performed with Michael Oldfield. Norway's most successful performer has topped the music charts in Sweden and Germany for the longest time.
Anita Hegerland's star rose in early childhood. It all started, like in a fairy tale, with the baby's performance in front of Santa Claus. The girl sang the song “I natt jag dromde” in such a way that the Christmas magician himself asked the author of the composition Frederick Olsen to pay attention to the young soloist.
Star start
The biography of the future star began in 1961. The girl was born in the town of Sannefjord on March 3. In a family of three children, she was the eldest child.
The singing career began in 1968 at a local Christmas party. After her debut, the young singer began to often participate in various events, and newspapers published laudatory reviews of her work.
In 1969, the star's first singles were released in their homeland. Both "Hvis jeg var en fugl" and "Albertino" became popular. The success was based on the incredible voice of the baby. Soon the first album appeared, which quickly went platinum.
New victories
In 1970, Anita made her debut in Sweden with the song "Mitt sommarlov". The novelty instantly took off to the top lines of the national charts. Then the girl took part in the competition "Golden Orpheus". The young celebrity ended the year with many prestigious awards.
In 1971, Hegerland conquered Germany. With Roy Black she performed the single "Schon ist es auf der Welt zu sein". Currently, the composition is recognized as a classic of the genre in most European countries. Anita undertook a concert tour in 1972, while participating in a television show with her recording partner.
The vocalist starred in several films, and in 1973 for the Norwegian version of The Jungle Book sang "Eget hjem" and voiced one of the heroines.
Family and stage
After 1976, the artist took a break, wanting to complete her education. From 1980 to 1985 she released 3 albums, took part in festivals.
In 1994 the listeners were presented with the collection "Voices", some of the songs for which were written by the vocalist. Along with pop and rock compositions, the disc includes Celtic-style folk singles. In 1996, the singer voiced Disney cartoons about Tarzan and Hercules, recorded soundtracks for them. A year later, they started working together on the single "Pictures in the Dark". Both the composition and the video quickly gained popularity. The musicians who became a couple recorded a compilation "Islands" and a video album "The Wind Chimes" with clips for each song.
In 1988, a child appeared in the family, daughter Greta. She subsequently chose the profession of a veterinarian. Inspired by her birth, her father wrote the single "Innocent", performed by Anita.
