Starting conditions

Parents always try to prepare their child for an independent life. This is how human nature works. Yuri Georgievich Bogatyrev was born on March 2, 1947 in the family of a naval officer. Parents lived at that time in Riga. The head of the family served in the operational department of the command of the Baltic Fleet and wanted his son to enter the Nakhimov school. The mother was engaged in housekeeping and raising children. Yura had an older sister, Margarita. From an early age, the boy showed a penchant for creativity. This was manifested in the fact that he was good at drawing. He himself could make a doll and sew outfits for her.

When the future actor was six years old, his father was transferred to Moscow. Here Yuri went to school and began to study in the section of folk art at the Palace of Pioneers. After the tenth grade, Bogatyrev decided to get a specialized education at the School of Industrial Art. As a student, he was carried away by classes in a theater studio. And after a while I realized that he was attracted to the acting profession. In 1966, Bogatyrev interrupted his studies and entered the acting department of the Shchukin Theater School.

Professional activity

After graduating from college in 1971, Bogatyrev joined the Sovremennik Bolshoi Drama Theater. The young actor played a lot and convincingly. The audience remembered the work of the actor in the productions "The Cherry Orchard", "Twelfth Night", "Forever Alive". However, the main roles were not often assigned to him. The situation changed qualitatively when he was invited to the Moscow Art Theater by the cult director Oleg Efremov. On the stage of this theater, Bogatyrev was in demand. He took part in the performances "Days of the Turbins", "Living Corpse", "Tartuffe" and others.

The time has come and Bogatyrev began to be invited to shoot a movie. While still a student, he met the young director Nikita Mikhalkov. Their fruitful collaboration began with the painting "A Quiet Day at the End of the War." After this film, the stars, as they say, came together in the right place. The actor was recognized by the filmmakers. The next picture, in collaboration with Mikhalkov, "One among strangers, a stranger among friends" became a landmark for the actor. The whole country recognized Bogatyrev. Then the pictures "Relatives", "Black Eyes", "A few days from Oblomov's life" were released.

Recognition and privacy

Competent experts call Yuri Bogatyrev a universal artist. He looked convincing in the role of a courageous commissar and in the form of a soft and shy writer. For his great contribution to the development of theatrical art, Bogatyrev was awarded the honorary title "People's Artist of the RSFSR".

The actor's personal life practically did not work out. He tried several times to start a family, but unsuccessfully. This is partly due to a chronic illness. The last attempt was to register a marriage with actress Nadezhda Serya. But a few months after that, Yuri Bogatyrev died of a heart attack in February 1989.
