Lydia Mikhailovna Ivanova was born on March 7, 1936 on the outskirts of Moscow into an ordinary Soviet family. Lydia's father Mikhail Ilyich Samsonov died when the girl was still a baby. After graduating from school and receiving a technical education, Lydia got a job at an automobile plant. In 1953, she became interested in sports and two years later became a member of the Soviet Union national rowing team, which resulted in numerous awards with the title of "Master of Sports". In 1968, after working all summer in a children's camp, Lydia Mikhailovna decides to change her profession and enters the State Pedagogical University.

Having received a pedagogical education, Ivanova graduates from graduate school and, having successfully defended her thesis, becomes a candidate of pedagogical sciences. While teaching at an agricultural technical school, she was actively involved in writing scientific books and articles. Since 1981, the writer completed her teaching career. Now Lydia Ivanova travels around the country, giving her lecture series.

Television work

Personal life

Despite a rich and interesting creative life full of success and glory, Lidia Mikhailovna was disappointed in love. In 1956, being a very young girl, she met her first husband, sports coach Oleg Ivanov. Soon they got married, and three years later, in 1961, their daughter Marina was born. Having been married for over 20 years, the couple divorced. Two years after the divorce in 1999, Lydia Ivanova is getting married for the second time.

This marriage became a real sensation, causing a storm of conflicting feelings among the fans of the famous writer. Her husband was an unknown young swindler Andrei Pravin, who was forty years younger than her. Family happiness did not last long, and after two years of marriage, her beloved husband fled abroad. Unable to withstand such a betrayal, the woman fell seriously ill and, having not recovered from the illness, on the morning of November 6, 2007, passed away from a heart attack.
