The world famous artist Vincent Van Gogh lived a short but very colorful life. He was unknown during his lifetime and became a real artistic legend after his death. Van Gogh did not receive a systematic art education, but thanks to his gift he managed to create genuine painting masterpieces that have become an artistic heritage and adorn the collections of famous museums and galleries around the world.

Perhaps Van Gogh's creative heritage will soon be replenished with the painting "Landscape with Peonies". The painting belongs to the Cologne collector Markus Rubrocks. In 1977, he discovered a painting in the attic of his father's house, inherited.

The owner of the painting believes that the painting dates from 1889. Van Gogh wrote Landscape with Peonies just a year before his tragic death. Independent experts have confirmed the version of Marcus Rubrox, but experts at the Vincent Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam are in no hurry to agree with them. They argue that the technique of painting the canvas does not correspond to the style of Van Gogh, and the painting is nothing more than a skillful fake.

During the restoration of Landscape with Peonies, Esther Monnick extracted hair that was under deep layers of paint. Hair 8 cm in length, reddish color. The restorer is sure that it belongs to the artist of the painting. Now there is a unique opportunity to carry out a genetic examination and find out the authenticity of the landscape.

DNA analysis will help to establish the authorship of the painting. According to The Daily Telegraph, experts will compare the DNA of the hair found on the canvas and the DNA of the living descendants of Vincent Van Gogh.

If the genetic examination confirms the belonging of "Landscape with Peonies" by Van Gogh, then the cost of the painting will almost double and exceed $ 60 million. So far, the painting is estimated at $ 39 million.
