Valentin Dikul is a circus artist who later became the author of a unique technique for restoring the work of the musculoskeletal system. He managed to recover, get out of the wheelchair and return to active life. Valentin Ivanovich is the head of a rehabilitation center specializing in diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Childhood, adolescence
Valentin Dikul was born in Kaunas (Lithuania) on April 3, 1948. The boy was born prematurely, miraculously survived. His parents died early. The father died from the swearing of bandits at the age of 29, and 2 years later, the mother also died, she was 27 years old. The grandmother and grandfather could not bring up their grandson and sent him to a boarding school.
One day the boy got into a circus and was carried away by this world. Later he began to run away there in his free time. Soon circus artists began to communicate with him. Valentine tried to help everyone, he swept the arena, fed the animals, cleaned the cages.
Then he began to independently prepare circus tricks. Valentine was engaged in wrestling, acrobatics, balancing act, invented tricks. As a high school student, he went to a circus studio, where they helped him do a number.
Trauma, rehabilitation
Valentine dreamed of performing tricks under the dome of the circus. During the execution of the number, the insurance broke, Dikul fell from a height of 13 m. His spine was broken, his skull was damaged, and there were many fractures.
The doctors said that Valentine would never be able to walk. However, Dikul really wanted to return to the circus. When he got better, he asked for small dumbbells, resistance bands, rubber bands were tied to the bed.
Valentin did the exercises every day while lying in bed. Gradually he increased the load. In between exercises, Dikul studied medical literature. This went on for several months. Valentine's condition improved, but his legs did not work.
But one day Dikul figured out how to help himself. Valentine asked his friends to make a system of blocks according to his drawings, which was later mounted above the bed. She helped set the legs in motion, thereby making the spine work. This led to the restoration of neural connections.
Young age, a great desire to recover, played an important role. Six months later, Dikul was discharged, he moved in a wheelchair. Doctors marveled at the incredible progress.
Later, Valentin became the head of a circus circle in the House of Culture. At that time he was 16 years old. This work has become an additional source of income for the disability pension. Dikul continued to do the exercises, practicing for several hours a day. So 5 years passed.
Once Valentin had a very severe pain attack, his temperature rose. During the crisis, he could not speak, his hands did not function, he lost consciousness. After 2 weeks, the sensitivity of the legs returned, and soon Dikul was able to get out of the wheelchair.
But he did not stop dreaming about the arena. Valentin realized that he would not be able to perform difficult exercises, he decided to become a power acrobat. A year later, he began training in the arena. After 3 years, he performed in the arena with complex stunts: he raised a horse, held a car. The artist became famous, got into the Guinness Book of Records.
Medical Center
Having learned about the history of healing, many disabled people began to write to Dikul asking for help. He sent out a complex of measures aimed at recovery. Later, Valentin had the idea to organize a medical center that would use his technique.
In 1988 he managed to bring the idea to life. Then Dikul opened several more similar centers. Specialists were able to put several thousand bedridden patients on their feet and continue to help people. An individual recovery program is developed for each. Dikul was educated at the University (Faculty of Biology), has a Doctor of Science degree.
Personal life
The first wife of Valentin Ivanovich is Lyudmila, a circus artist. They had a daughter, Anya. She studied to be a director at GITIS, but then began working in a circus, took up medicine. She has a daughter, Valentina.
The second time, Dikul married a girl named Zhanna, she is much younger. When he turned 62, his wife gave birth to a child who was named Valentine.
