Currently, Russian citizens have the right to undergo military service under a contract. Contract service reflects the need of the state to create a strong professional army and fundamentally affects the entire military organization of the state. What does it take to become a contract soldier?

Step 1
First of all, you should know that the first contract for the passage of service can be concluded by men aged 18 to 40 years and women aged 20 to 40 years.
Step 2
The contract is concluded in writing. One of the parties to the contract is a citizen who has expressed a desire to become a professional military man, the other party is a ministry or department in which military service is provided.
Step 3
Selection for military service is carried out by military commissariats of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the manner determined by the Law of the Russian Federation "On conscription and military service."
Step 4
Those entering military service under the contract undergo a medical examination, which determines fitness for service for health reasons. For a positive decision, a medical examination must recognize a citizen as fit for military service or fit for service with minor restrictions.
Step 5
It will be obligatory for the conclusion of the contract to fulfill the requirements for educational level, for the level of professional training, for psychological and moral qualities, as well as for physical fitness. Compliance of citizens with the established requirements is checked by the certification commission of the military unit.
Step 6
There are the following types of contracts: on the passage of service in the personnel of the Armed Forces and federal agencies, on the passage of service in the personnel of a specific unit, on the passage of service in a specific position of the corresponding military unit.
Step 7
Refusal to conclude a contract may follow in the absence of a specific vacant position in a military unit, if a citizen does not meet the requirements for entering military service under a contract, as well as in case of an unexpunged or outstanding conviction. Another reason for refusal is the presence of a child under the age of eight.
Step 8
The law provides for the possibility of early termination of the contract with the consent of the parties who signed it. The reasons for such termination may be health conditions, changes in the staff structure, good personal reasons.
