Hereditary military man Vyacheslav Mironov came to literature quite by accident. But he did it so well that the very first book became a bestseller. Perhaps because he himself was directly involved in the events described.
Biography
Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Mironov was born in Kemerovo in 1966. His father was a military man, so Vyacheslav decided to choose the same career. Although initially after school, he entered the Mari Polytechnic and mastered the program of the first year of the radio faculty. But in 1984, Vyacheslav entered the communications school in his hometown and graduated in 1988.
After that, there was military service. Mironov traveled almost all over the country, the places of his posting were not always calm. Baku, Transnistria, Chechnya are only a small part of the list where military conflicts have flared up. During his service, Vyacheslav Mironov suffered two wounds, several contusions. The state awarded his contribution to the settlement of military differences with the Order of Courage.
In 1997, Mironov was dismissed from the Armed Forces for redundancy and continued his career in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He worked in the tax industry and the drug control service in Krasnoyarsk. To improve his competence, he graduated from the Siberian Law Institute from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
I was in this war
The ambiguous media coverage of the events of the First Chechen War forced Vyacheslav Mironov in 1995 to start writing his first book. According to the author's recollections, after watching one documentary on TV, he was so overcome by anger and pain that he almost immediately sat down to work. Initially, Mironov wanted to write a letter to the editorial office of the TV channel, attaching his memoirs. But there were so many of them that he thought about creating a full-fledged literary work. The memories were still fresh and very emotional, and he put them on paper.
However, this part of the work turned out to be not the most difficult. It took the writer almost three years to get his work in print. Many publishers refused immediately. Some frankly stated that such a book would never be published in Russia.
Mironov ventured to post the text of the book on the Internet. And chance brought him to the founder of the site "Art of War", which published eyewitness accounts of military operations. After that, Mironov managed to agree with one of the Moscow publishing houses to publish the book.
Such a difficult work for some politicians put Mironov on a par with Grachev, Yeltsin and others. Anna Politkovskaya (Russian journalist and human rights activist, 1958-2006) after the publication of "I was in this war" equated Vyacheslav Mironov with war criminals. She made a whole list, which included the writer, and sent him to the Hague court. Mironov himself speaks of this event briefly: "Honorable!" But he did not change his attitude to those realities and continued his literary work.
After reading the book “I was in this war”, the popular Russian group “Lube” has the song “Come on for”. As N. Rastorguev (soloist of the group) noted, it was after this book that “for the first time we understood a little what was going on there”.
The novel “I was in that war” was reprinted several times and translated into several languages. Until now, the debut book remains the most successful and recognizable among all the works of Mironov.
Awards
For conducting special operations in combat conditions, he was awarded the Order of Courage.
For his works he was awarded the title of laureate of the "Teneot" competition (a literary competition of the Runet, founded in 2000).
Non-profit foundation named after A. Astafiev supported Vyacheslav Mironov in 2002 with his prize.

Other books by the author
Mironov has no literary education (by the way, this is a pseudonym, and his real name is Lazarev). But that doesn't stop him. The second work "Not My War" also describes real events, but of another war. This book is written by Mironov together with a classmate at the military school Oleg Makov.
Then there will be "Temple". As the author admits, this is a kind of challenge to himself. "The Temple" is written in the style of a military adventure novel and combines six real stories. And the challenge was to do something that he had never done before. As a result, the work turned out to be more literary than the first two books. The plot is based on the history of the hunt for Dudaev's archive.
"The Hunt for the Sheikh" is the story of two officers of the Krasnoyarsk FSB who were killed in captivity by militants after being tortured. V. Mironov knew them personally.
"War 2017" - reflections on possible events in the event of the occupation of Russia by NATO troops.
"Cadet's Day" (in two parts) - autobiographical memoirs about studies, supplemented by the stories of fellow students.
It is interesting that Mironov writes not only about the war and not only autobiographical works. For example, he took part in the Kaleidoscope-XXI play and script competition. With the work "Slavka, Kolka, Sashka and the Airplane" (for children 9-12 years old), he became a laureate. The organizers and the jury highly appreciated the work of Vyacheslav Nikolaevich and even compared it with the work "Children of Captain Grant".
In total, Mironov has more than twenty books in his piggy bank.
Personal life
Vyacheslav Mironov is married, his wife's name is Inna. There is a son, Eugene. Family and close relatives, as a rule, become the first readers of his works. Already an adult son is a rather harsh critic, the opinion of his father (a career soldier) is also very valuable for the author.
