For an Orthodox Christian, the sacrament of the sacrament is vital. It is recommended for a Christian to approach this great shrine as often as possible. At the same time, one should not forget about all the greatness of the sacrament and the rules for preparing for it.
According to the teachings of the Orthodox Church, in the sacrament of the sacrament, the believer, under the guise of bread and wine, receives the Body and Blood of Christ the Savior. Thus, the Christian is united with God. The preparation for the ordinance has several distinctive features.
The main criterion for admission to the sacrament is the inner state of a person. You cannot approach the holy cup if anger or hatred towards your neighbor lurks in your heart. You must first try to come to terms with everyone, forgive all the insults yourself, and only then start preparing for the sacrament.
Before the sacrament of the sacrament, a Christian must fast for three days. Depending on the season, it can be different in severity. So, for example, during the days of Great Lent, an Orthodox Christian cannot eat fish, and if there is no prolonged fasting, then fish is allowed.
During preparation for the sacrament (fasting), a person needs to think about his life. Try to remember all the sins he committed. The Church calls on a person to fulfill the prayer rule before communion, which consists in reading morning and evening prayers, as well as three canons (repentance to the Lord, prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos and the guardian angel) and following to the sacrament.
Confession is a prerequisite for admission to the sacrament. On the eve of communion, a believer must attend the evening service, and then at confession. After that, read the evening prayers at home, the three canons. In the morning, it is necessary to read the morning prayers and follow-up to the sacrament and go to the service.
It is very important to remember that with the onset of the day of communion from 12 o'clock in the morning you cannot eat or drink anything. It is advisable only to brush your teeth, rinse them with water (without swallowing) and go to the temple. The exception is patients who need to take medicine in the morning. In such a situation, it is allowed to drink pills and drink them with water, but no more.
During the service of the Liturgy, it is necessary to be attentive, try to direct your thoughts to the upcoming meeting with God in the holy sacrament.
Separately, it should be noted that a woman on critical days is forbidden to begin the sacrament. People who smoke should refrain from smoking from the moment of confession until the very sacrament.
The dress code of women should be appropriate for the place, however, as well as for men. In the temple, a woman should wear a headscarf and a skirt that does not expose her hips.
