The fulfillment of the Sacrament of Communion in the church tradition has existed since the Last Supper. On that day, Jesus distributed the broken bread to his disciples, explaining it this way: "This is my body …" Since then, the sacrament has become a deep spiritual need for every Christian. It is known that it is inadmissible to receive communion in a formal manner. Preparation for the sacrament must therefore become a serious inner work of a person.
Instructions
Step 1
The Church considers the sacrament to be the most important and most important event in the life of a believer. The priest is called to educate the parishioners about the importance of this ordinance. How often a person needs to receive communion, everyone determines for himself. Someone goes through communion annually, but for someone it is a daily inner need. The duration of fasting and abstinence before the sacrament is also highly personal.
Step 2
The Church does not require strict fasting from certain groups of parishioners. We are talking about children, sick people, pregnant women and nursing mothers. Constrained living conditions (including the army, imprisonment, etc.) can also serve as the basis for a condescending attitude towards the severity of the fast. In such conditions, the fast can be relaxed.
Step 3
Nowadays, unconditional attendance at the evening service just before the day of communion is not required. Although this is welcomed and encouraged by the clergy.
Step 4
The very preparation for the Sacrament of Communion should pursue the goal of acquiring a sense of repentance, humility and repentance for believers. Realization of the significance of this event remains an important point. After all, a mysterious union of parishioners with Jesus Christ takes place in it.
Step 5
Preparation for the Sacrament of Holy Communion is aimed, first of all, at acquiring a feeling of deep repentance and humility. The believer symbolically accepts the Body of Christ into his life as a kind of divine gift.
Step 6
One of the unconditional wishes before partaking of the sacrament is to prepare for it through prayers, both at home and during church services. It is advisable to take such a service in the evening on the eve of the day of the celebration of this Sacrament.
Step 7
Confession must also precede the sacrament. A parishioner must verbally confess his sins to God in the presence of a priest, trying to sincerely cleanse his soul, and with the intention of not allowing sinful acts in the future. Humility and forgiveness of obvious and perceived offenders should also help to ease the soul of a person before the sacrament.
Step 8
And now the Sacrament of Communion was accomplished. The believer must now see to it that the gifts given at the time of the sacrament are fully preserved within themselves. It is recommended, if possible, to avoid everyday life topics in conversations, to postpone everyday worries and troubles. It is best to devote this day to deeds pleasing to God, fill it with reflections on mercy and love for your neighbors.
