Yuri Butusov is not one of those who longs to get into the spotlight, but the profession of a theater director will not allow to remain in the shadows. The beginning of the creative path
The birthplace of Yuri Butusov is Gatchina. He first saw the light of day on October 24, 1961, and in his family no one was associated with the theater. Butusov himself has long decided for himself that his house in every sense of the word is in St. Petersburg, because it was here, in St. Petersburg, that he realized his mission and devoted his life to art. The search for himself did not immediately lead the artist to the director's profession. There was no theater in the plans for life, despite the fact that his childhood was partially spent in the studio.
After school, Yuri receives a higher education at the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute, but he worked in his specialty for a very short time, since the work did not bring moral satisfaction. He tries himself in various professions, including such a direction as equestrian sports. As a result of a long search, he finds himself in the Perekrestok Theater. Attempts to enter the acting department end in failure for Yuri, but he decides not to give up. Working as a watchman for a whole year does not scare him. He believes that real success lies ahead.
1991 becomes a decisive year for the future director. He enters the directing department on the basis of LGITMiKA, Irina Malochevskaya becomes his creative director, who in turn was V. Tovstonogov's colleague for a long time.
Becoming as a director
After graduating from the institute, Butusov receives his favorite profession, and also meets future stars in his performances, which include the charming Mikhail Trukhin, the charismatic Konstantin Khabensky, the multifaceted Mikhail Porechenkov. Their collaboration begins during the student days of the future director. His graduation work is "Waiting for Godot" based on the play of the same name by Beckett, and the educational performance entitled "The Marriage" is a well-deserved success with the audience. Later, "Godot" will bring the master such an award as the "Golden Mask", and also make him the owner of the main prize at the "Christmas Parade" festival.
After the university was left behind, Butusov came to the Lensovet Theater, thanks to his works the theater became recognizable among Russian residents. The audience is in love with Yuri, the critics are happy, but the director does not intend to stop and is busy looking for new venues where he can truly reveal himself.
The next stage in his creative career is the Satyricon Theater located in Moscow. His first production was "Macbeth" by E. Ionesco. A new acting team is being formed, for which the most comfortable conditions are created, which can be compared with a cozy home environment. In Moscow, "Satyricon" is not the only theater in which Yuri has shown himself as a talented director. He managed to work in "Snuffbox", Vakhtangov Theater, Moscow Art Theater.
