In his life there were both military glory and high government posts. He was considered a sergeant major, who does not climb into his own, but was respected for interesting compositions.
Human nature is contradictory. The biographies of great writers, commanders and scientists who represent the people a century after the death of the heroes are very different from real life. Each of us is a collection of qualities and weaknesses worthy of respect. Such was Alexander Pisarev.
Childhood
Pisarev Sr. was known among his contemporaries as an enlightened person. He was educated abroad and admired Europe. He also nourished love for the Fatherland. In August 1780, this aristocrat became a father. The son was named the same as his father, Alexander.
The boy spent the early years of his life in the family estate of his parent in the Moscow region. He learned the basics of science at home under the guidance of papa. He decided that his son should make a career in the army. A representative of the not richest noble family of the Moscow province could not immediately be enrolled in military service after birth, in order to receive an officer's rank, he had to enter the appropriate educational institution.
Youth
As a teenager, Sasha was sent to study at the Land Gentry Corps. The trip to the capital became an event in the boy's life. Here he was able to fully appreciate how well his father prepared him for an independent life. The cadets mastered not only military affairs, but also foreign languages. In 1794 the educational institution was headed by Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov. He staffed the teaching staff exclusively with army ranks, improved discipline.
After receiving a diploma and going home for a visit, Alexander Pisarev was enrolled in the famous Life Guards Semyonovsky regiment with the rank of second lieutenant. The first years of service did not leave vivid memories. It was a routine, from which Sasha found salvation in creativity. A number of patriotic poems came out from under his pen. In 1804 he became a member of the Free Society of Lovers of Literature, Sciences and Arts, which he later headed.
On the battlefield
Our hero got a chance to distinguish himself in battle in 1805. At Austerlitz, the Russians, as part of the allied forces, met with the army of Napoleon Bonaparte. If Mikhail Kutuzov was disappointed with the emperor's inattention to his advice, then his student Pisarev certainly did not disappoint the mentor. For his bravery shown in battle, the young man received the rank of captain. Two years after the battle at Friedland, he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir and the rank of colonel.
Alexander Alexandrovich did not manage to shine with awards at home for a long time - the restless Corsican moved his troops to Russia. Our colonel took part in the battle of Borodino and in the battle at Maloyaroslavets. On the eve of the overseas campaign, he was assigned the command of the Kiev grenadier regiment. The war ended for a gallant officer in Paris in 1814.
Veteran
During his service, Pisarev was wounded many times, but preferred to be discharged from hospitals as soon as possible. The consequences of such an attitude to one's health were not long in coming - in 1815 our hero had to take a break from military service and get medical treatment. The veteran decided to use his free time to good use - it was time for him to arrange his personal life.
On one of the evenings, Alexander met Agrippina. The girl blinded him with exquisite manners and incomparable dress. Her uncle was one of the richest people in Moscow, Nikolai Durasov. The servant was afraid that he would not give consent to his marriage with a brilliant niece. To everyone's surprise, a wealthy family was delighted with such a prospect, and in 1818 the wedding took place. It turned out that she was a spender. Now her husband was forced to provide her. An attempt to return to the army in 1821 was unsuccessful; Alexander decided to look for another job.
In the civil service
In 1823, in the rank of general, the veteran of the war with Napoleon retired. The next year he was elected president of the Moscow Society of Lovers of Russian History and Antiquities. This title attracted attention to his person. An enlightened person was needed in the administrative apparatus of the Russian Empire. Pisarev was appointed trustee of the Moscow educational district and Moscow University.
Alexander with his usual energy got down to business. The result was numerous complaints about his arbitrariness and attempts to plant an army drill in educational institutions. The hero of the year was forgiven a lot, but in 1829 the people's requests had to be respected - Pisarev was removed from office. Another veteran of the 1912 war, Ivan Paskevich, came to his rescue. He was the governor in the Kingdom of Poland and in 1836 invited a friend to his service.
Last years
Old man Pisarev retired in 1847 from his post in the Moscow Senate. Before that, he managed to visit the governor of Warsaw, make a significant contribution to the development of natural sciences in the Russian Empire, and publish a book about the victory over Napoleon. Now he had time for his beloved wife and five children. The wife had already squandered her dowry, so the family lived on the estate of Alexander Alexandrovich.
Unfortunately, our hero did not enjoy his peaceful life for long. He died in 1848. His widow began to sell everything that the deceased bequeathed to her. The literary heritage of Alexander Pisarev is extensive. These are both the classics of poetry of the early 19th century, and the first scientific work on the history of the Patriotic War of 1812.
