Victor Nikolaevich is a native Muscovite. He was born in early October 1956, in a simple working-class family - the boy's mother was a machine operator at one of the factories in the capital, his father worked there as a workshop foreman.
After school, the young man entered the Ordzhonikidze MIU (Moscow Institute of Management), successfully graduated in 1983, and received a specialist diploma in the field of organization and management of production processes. Almost immediately after graduating from the university, Baturin received a managerial position in a production facility where aerodynamic products were produced.
Viktor Nikolayevich was never interested in working for the "good of the country". The cooperative movement was much closer to him, but getting there under the Soviet principle of the functioning of the state was not so easy. The young man took an active part in various business projects that developed against the background of perestroika, but real success came to him in 1991, when his sister became the wife of the mayor of the capital. But even under her "wing" Viktor Nikolaevich did not stay long, only 10 years, after which disagreements began between brother and sister.

From 1989 to 1991, Baturins' brother and sister, Elena and Victor, developed their own business for the production of plastic and plastic products. Orders were negligible, their own production sites were small, which did not allow expanding production to a profitable scale. The situation changed dramatically in 1991, when Elena married Luzhkov. Baturina's enterprise began to receive government orders, it became possible to organize a large workshop on the basis of the Moscow oil refinery.
