If you are at least a little versed in musical creativity, then you probably know the personality of the brilliant musician, singer and artist David Bowie, who conquered the whole world with his charisma, interesting appearance and boundless talent. He had an enormous impact on the development of the music industry, and also won many awards, released a number of hits and tried himself as an actor. The biography of this man is a whole story, consisting of ups and downs, but nevertheless, the end result of David Bowie's life path is worldwide recognition, deserved with great difficulty.
Childhood and adolescence
David's biography begins in London, where he was born into a family of ordinary workers. Initially, the boy had the surname Jones, and only in adulthood he took the pseudonym Bowie, since this was the name of his favorite hunting knives. David was educated in a regular school, where he showed himself as a diligent student, always doing his homework and taking care of his grades. However, after the school call, David sometimes turned into a bully and brawler.
A little later, Jones began to go to the music section, but, oddly enough, the teachers at that time thought that the boy did not have the ability to make music. At the same time, David also signed up for choreography, where he achieved much greater success. He was praised for his ability to experiment and do amazing things without prior preparation.
As a teenager, the boy began to get involved in the work of Elvis Presley, playing the piano and printing. Around the same time, an unpleasant event occurs in David's life - a quarrel with his best friend over a girl, and then a serious fight, as a result of which the boy's eye was injured. He even had to leave school for several months in order to regain his eyesight, however, despite numerous operations, David suffered the consequences of a school fight until the end of his days.
Since then, the character of the teenager has changed. He began to communicate less with his comrades, and spent his free time learning to play various musical instruments. David has mastered the saxophone, guitar, piano, stylophone, ukulele and percussion instruments. All this allowed him to found his first musical group "The Kon-rads", with which he performed at weddings and parties. However, this group did not bring Bowie the desired income, and he was forced to move to another group called the Manish Boys. But Bowie did not stay here either, because the songs he released were not popular. His next step was the Lower Third, and then the Buzz band. However, David's attempts to make his voice famous within the framework of a career in these musical groups, again did not succeed. And then Bowie thought that music was not his field of activity, so for several years he was engaged in circus art.
Musical career
After a while, Bowie returned to music again. He created a song in honor of a significant event - the landing of astronauts on the moon. The single "Space Oddity" immediately burst into all the top charts in Britain and America and made David a famous person. Since then, Bowie's musical career has gone up. He released the song "The Man Who Sold the World" in which he used the genre of hard rock, and soon created his own band "Hype". Performing with him in different cities, Bowie gained immense popularity. Fans admired his talent and ability to create the atmosphere of an unforgettable show.
It was at this time that David began to experiment with unusual costumes, wigs and lenses, which later became part of his stage and life image. The last days of life
Bowie had cancer for a long time. At the age of 69, the disease worsened, and the musician was well aware that his days were numbered. Shortly before his death, he recorded the song "Lazarus", which has biblical overtones. But many fans were struck by the video for this song, where we see Bowie as a hospital patient, exhausted from pain, but continuing to make art.
