The Day of the Holy Trinity is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on the fiftieth day after Easter. This is one of the twelve major holidays of Orthodoxy. There is a pious tradition to decorate Orthodox churches with greenery on this day.

The altar is decorated with grass and trees. The Royal Doors (the central doors of the altar), as well as the side doors, are decorated with birches.
There is a pious tradition to collect herbs from the temple after the celebration of the Holy Trinity. Believers can steam the consecrated herb and use it for medicinal purposes.
