A tragic accident that occurred on February 24, 1996, cut short the life of a young and promising actor Alexei Leonidovich Fomkin. This misfortune happened after the celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day by spouses Alexei and Elena Fomkin, who were visiting. A night fire during the dream of a famous artist was the cause of his death.

On August 30, 1969, the future idol of millions of Soviet boys and girls was born in a metropolitan family far from the world of culture and art. In the elementary grades of high school, Alyosha grew up as a cheerful and sympathetic boy who showed great promise in the art circle of readers and the theater studio.
As a participant in children's art reading competitions, he was repeatedly awarded various awards. In addition, at the same time he was noticed at the Gorky film studio, where he ended up in the card index after an unsuccessful first attempt to pass tests for the children's picture "Scarecrow". And then there was a successful startup as an actor with a debut role in the next issue of Yeralash (Auction).
The successful film debut was followed by a whole series of projects, among which there were five issues of Yeralash, the sensational film Guest from the Future (1984), as well as the films Reason (1986) and In My Own Land (1987), in which Alexey Fomkin acted in episodic roles.
After universal recognition and fame, the young actor does not leave the pages of newspapers and magazines, as well as television screens as a movie star, giving interviews in the media. However, the talented actor, who made his choice in favor of filming in film projects, greatly neglected his studies. Therefore, instead of a certificate of secondary education, he was only given a certificate stating that he had attended a course in a general education program. And instead of entering a thematic university, Alexey went to Siberia to defend the peaceful sky over the head of the Fatherland as a conscript, where he was in great demand in local amateur performances.
After the army, the young talent was accepted into the troupe of the Moscow Art Theater named after Gorky, where he did not stay for a long time because of his addiction to alcohol and drugs, which directly affected absenteeism and the quality of work. The subsequent dismissal coincided with the criminal "nineties", when it was almost impossible for a creative person to find a job.
And then there was temporary work at a construction site in Moscow, moving to the village of Bezvodnoye (Vladimir region) to his grandmother, hard physical labor at a local mill and a gradual adaptation to a quiet life, when he even became addicted to composing poetry.
Personal life of the artist
The marriage with Elena took place during the artist's residence in the Vladimir region. Having met his future wife in the regional center, Alexey soon moved to live with her.
This last period in his life was marked by the fact that Alexei, together with his wife, plunged into occultism, mysticism and ritual rituals. It is not known how his fate would have developed further if a tragic event had not occurred that took the life of a young and talented film actor.
