Creative activity

In the foreground

When Ace of Base signed to Danish Mega Records in 1990, Lynn Berggren put her teaching career on hold. During the creation of the first album Ace of Base - Happy Nation - Lynn was the main vocalist of the group, it was her voice that led most of the singles, as well as in the most famous hit - All That She Wants. However, in the singles The Sign, Waiting for Magic and some other tracks on the album, she and her younger sister Jenny had equal roles. Since the release of the band's second album, The Bridge, the vocals of the Berggren sisters have become more equal. In 1997, it was reported that Lynn was planning a solo project, releasing the song Lapponia, which never received an official release.

In the background

Since 1997, the already famous Lynn Berggren has appeared at the band's concerts, either standing in a poorly lit place, or hiding behind objects on the stage, such as curtains. In the group's videos, she stood far from the members and her face was blurred. Lynn did not interview anyone for a year. The other members of the group were very reluctant to explain what happened to the lead singer of the group.

Managers, producers, and record company executives have explained Lynn Berggren's behavior in different ways. In 1997, when Lynn refused to take part in the World Music Awards, Klas Cornelius of the Danish record company explained her absence by saying that she did not like wearing makeup to perform on stage. At the ceremony, the group performed the song Ravine, while Lynn stood away from the group and played the synthesizer.

In one of the last interviews with Lynn Berggren in 1997, she states that she just wants to stay in the shadows. The next eight videos about the group fulfilled her wish, Lynn was absent from them. In other promotional materials, Lynn's face was sad and washed out. The album cover "Flowers" proved to be the case.

In 1998, when the video for the song Cruel Summer was being filmed in Rome, Lynn did not want to get into the camera lens. Director Nigel Dick later said that if it were not for his perseverance, Lynn really would not have appeared in the video Jenny Berggren in the music video had to sing for both, she sang the musical parts of her sister. Bravo magazine claimed a year later that Lynn Berggren was seriously ill based on the band's performance in Germany. In confirmation of their words, the magazine published photos of Lynn. Ulf Ekberg once stated that Lynn has a camera phobia, but other sources stated that she was simply afraid of flying planes, hence her absence from some of the band's concerts. Lynn appears at concerts in the cities of Gothenburg and Copenhagen, since she does not have to fly to these cities. The band members said that Lynn has always been a shy and shy girl, and she would be happy if Jenny led the group, although the attack by a fan with a knife on Jenny and their mother in 1994 also caused Lynn to be reluctant to appear in public places. The attacking fan turned out to be a German fan, who was later arrested; in the police, the girl claimed that the target of her attack was Lynn.

In the last personal television interview with Lynn, in 1998, she expressed her desire to simply remain in the background.

Her last public appearance was during the promotion of Da Capo in 2002, where she showed a German television band a simulated keyboard instrument in the background.

In October and November 2005, the three of them performed in Belgium, Lynn was unable to attend.

In 2007 Lynn Berggren left the group for good. The band had been performing for a while without Lynn as a trio. Lynn Berggren's photographs have been removed from all of the band's promotional material on the official website. How is Lynn currently living? She enjoys a quiet life, with no interest in fame or a return to music.
