Sergey Vasilievich Artemiev is a specialist accountant and master artist. Her favorite genres are portrait and landscape. He writes not only collective images, but also the most famous personalities. His works are so natural that the thought creeps in: are they not photographs? Because of his amazing talent, he suffered at first when he wanted to join the ranks of the Union of Artists.
From biography
Sergei Vasilievich Artemiev was born in 1960 in Leningrad. The boy was named after the famous great-great-grandfather Sergei Malyutin, who was the first to paint the nesting doll. Studying at the Palace of Pioneers, he took part in a children's drawing competition in India in 1969. Among 2,000 contestants, 6 works were selected, one of which was to be printed on a stamp. Chosen not his job.
Future competitor
An important milestone in the life of S. Artemiev was his acquaintance with the artist A. I. Laktionov. He said about a ten-year-old boy that he had talent, he had to learn. Sergei saw in the next room a young man who was copying the picture, discovered his mistake and prompted him. Alexander Ivanovich, having heard this, said that a competitor was growing. Further communication with the painter helped the teenager understand that everyone can draw, not everyone becomes real artists.
At the crossroads
After graduating from the physics and mathematics school, the search for ways to get an education was long. First, the Institute's Mathematics and Mechanics Institute, then the Academy of Arts, the army, and as a result, the economy of road transport took over. I decided to paint in my free time. While studying at the University of Engineering and Economics, he attended S. Epstein's studio, from which he graduated in 1984.
The world of portrait images
S. Artemiev painted portraits of famous personalities:
A meeting with French fashion designer Pierre Cardin was made at a cafe. Cardin's first reaction was to say that this was not a portrait, but a photograph. And a huge surprise. Sergei was later told that the fashion designer does not drink coffee with anyone.
In the portrait gallery of S. Artemiev there are also collective images.
The painting depicts a modestly dressed girl. Closed-form clothing of light blue-violet color. She is wearing a specific headdress and a special bandage on her forehead. Tilting his head, he pensively supports the lighted candle. What is she thinking about? Looking at this portrait, each person in his own way will replenish his associative baggage of wisdom. This is how the viewer develops his artistic world.
An elderly peasant in a quilted jacket sits on a box by the door with his hands folded in his lap. A slightly detached look is directed somewhere to the side. Probably, he recalls a bleak childhood. In general, there is a certain firmness of spirit in him. S. Artemiev says that this is a collective image.
Picturesque corners
Landscape is one of his favorite genres. He loves his small homeland - Pavlovsk, Pushkin. Traveling a lot, he draws other parts of the world.
Pavlovsk places since 1975 are familiar to the artist and loved by him. This is how the winter guards look like - giant trees that seem to have moved away from the rest. Now they are in winter clothes standing, without moving, at the post. Sunlight falls in the distance, behind them, and they are in partial shade. They feel good in the fresh air under the clear winter sky. Winter will pass, summer will come, and they will live and guard for many, many years.
The moment captured in the picture is always an amazing time of the day. The sun, which has just gained strength, releases its rays. The artist captured a double space: bright heavenly light and partial shade among massive pines. The rays have already hit the meadows, and it is light on them. Tall pines with massive tops are surprising. The vibrant, radiant landscape reflects the majesty and beauty of the morning forest.
We believe together
The man and the dog are sleeping peacefully. The poses are surprisingly the same: on the right side, both. The man is young, good-looking. Dressed lightly in a semblance of a blazer and blue faded jeans. A trusted friend did not abandon him.
The picture raises a number of questions, associations and additional names. What happened? How will the dream end? They are friendly. Do not give up in trouble. Both were tired. Few paintings like this evoke previous and future impressions in the viewer. It is believed that everything will be fine. It is wonderful that this work is a real piece of creative art.
Master class for society
S. Artemiev conducts painting master classes in leisure departments, in children's homes. For several hours, people are immersed in the creative process and communication with the artist. Sergey Vasilievich finds an individual approach to each participant. S. Artemiev conducts a painting master class for older children of the Children's Home. He shows children the magical transformations of colors, and they are passionate about drawing different animals.
Suffered due to talent
During the admission to the Union of Artists, the applicant arranges the work, talks a little about himself, he is asked to leave. A few minutes later, they say - "accepted" or "not accepted". And when they took Artemyev, a lot of time passed. Finally, he was informed that it was not accepted - two votes were missing. The members of the Artistic Council were convinced that these were photographs. He was advised to show all stages of work on canvas.
From personal life
The family shares his passion. The son and daughter are far from painting, but they go to the exhibitions of their father, who hopes that the genes will show up, because, as he says, "you can't crush genes with your finger!"
Sergey Artemiev today
Sergei enjoys both working as an accountant and painting, to which he devotes up to five hours a day. The artist was offered a personal exhibition in China, then in France. Negotiations are underway with Greece and Germany. He does not part with creativity. There are many plans.
S. Artemiev is a famous artist, whose paintings, in terms of realism, can compete with nature. They are similar to photographs, so at first they are a little puzzling, then they surprise and, in the end, delight.
