The famous journalist and TV presenter was born on June 30, 1973. The birthplace of Andrei Olegovich Kondrashov was the city of Alma-Ata, at that time the capital of the Kazakh ASSR.

Education and career

Andrey Kondrashov entered the International Independent Environmental and Political University at the Faculty of Journalism. He studied in Moscow, the future journalist also practiced in the capital, so it is not surprising that after graduating from university he did not return to his small homeland. The young specialist was noticed and invited to try his hand at the Vesti program at the end of the summer of 1991. The experience turned out to be successful and a year later Andrey was appointed to the position of VGTRK's own correspondent for Central Asia. So the young man was able to prepare relevant and serious journalistic materials, including about the fate and life of his small homeland.

Seven years later, in 1999, Andrei Kondrashov moved to the Moscow editorial office of Vesti and held the position of a special correspondent. At this time, the period of political work of a journalist begins - he receives accreditation for meetings of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, for some time works in the presidential pool, covers events in "hot spots". A number of copyright materials are devoted to the events in Ingushetia, Tajikistan, Chechnya, Afghanistan, North Ossetia and the Balkans, in addition, he told viewers about the pogroms on Manezhnaya Square in Moscow, which took place in the summer of 2002.

Despite the fact that political topics in the journalist's materials were raised for many years, he officially took up the position of political observer of the Vesti program only in 2003. In 2005 he also became a TV presenter: he began with the programs "Vesti" and "Vesti +", in 2007-2008. - "News of the week". In 2016, Andrei Kondrashov took the post of Director of the Vesti program, and in 2018 - Deputy General Director of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. In parallel, he continues to be a TV presenter - in June 2018 he was a co-host of the Direct Line with Vladimir Putin. It is curious that in the same year (from January to March) the journalist worked as the press secretary of the election headquarters of the presidential candidate Vladimir Putin.

Andrey Kondrashov made ten documentaries from 2011 to 2020, combining the roles of a journalist and a TV presenter in these works. His films are distinguished by their seriousness, truthfulness and, therefore, provocativeness. Among the most powerful works: "Berezovsky" (2012), "Afghan" (2014), "War for Water" (on the shortage of fresh water, 2016), "War for Memory" (dedicated to the attitude of Europeans to the results of World War II, 2020) and others. Andrei Kondrashov is married, his daughter Anna was born in 2002 - she seriously studied music (piano) and represented Moscow at the All-Russian competition. The journalist, despite being constantly busy at work, finds time for hobbies. But they are "serious" too - political literature, aviation, photography.
