A distant start
Much has already been said about the creative biography of this writer. Humanities students write essays and abstracts. Critics seek and find comparisons for her among the names of the classics. At the same time, almost everyone agrees that the problems and way of life of the middle class in Russia are reflected in the work of Masha Traub. Readers, who very often recognize themselves in the heroes of large and small works of the writer, came to this conclusion. We can safely add the fact that many of the sensations that are conveyed through the text, Masha experienced or continues to experience at the moment.
The future journalist and writer Masha Traub was born on October 8, 1976 in an ordinary Soviet family. The father bore the surname Kiselev. Accordingly, Maria Kiseleva was recorded in the birth certificate. Parents often went on long-term business trips to the north of the country. The girl spent almost all her childhood years with her grandmother, who lived in Ossetia and worked as a journalist for a regional newspaper. She often took her granddaughter with her to the editorial office, where Masha watched with her own eyes the process of releasing the next issue. And the first fairy tale, which the future writer composed, was published in the “grandmother's newspaper”.
In the creative field
Maria finished school in Moscow, after her parents returned to the capital. In high school, she already joined the literary work and attended the creative workshop of the Literary Institute, which was led by the famous Soviet poet Yuri Levitansky. The girl showed hope, had an ear for music, which is very important for the poet, but decided to go the other way. Having received a certificate of maturity, Maria Kiseleva entered the journalism department of the famous MGIMO - Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
After graduation, the certified journalist worked for several years in various publications. Her materials were published in the newspaper Izvestia, Novoye Vremya and others. After a while, she accumulated a huge amount of information that could not be used in the framework of journalistic activities. And then Maria began to write stories, stories and travel notes. In 2006, her first book, "Get Ready, We're Leaving", was published. The readership greeted her with delight.
Recognition and privacy
At the moment, the writer has more than thirty books on her account. Her husband, Andrei Kolesnikov, who is the editor of Novaya Gazeta, advised her to take the pseudonym Traub. Translated from Ossetian, it means "vine" or "bunch". It is interesting to note that Masha does not have a special office in her apartment. She "creates" her works in the kitchen.
The husband and wife are raising their son Vasily and daughter Seraphima. Household chores do not distract Masha from her favorite pastime, but, on the contrary, stimulate creative activity. Traub publishes two or three new books every year.
