Thirty years have passed, and the echoes of the nineties are still heard. They are also called dashing for their cruelty, lack of principle and complete absence of at least some kind of order in the country. 1988 was the final year of the formation of one of the largest groups of all criminal gangs in the history of Russia. It was the Solntsevo organized criminal group. Legends are made about her today.
Moscow region mafia of the nineties
This group got its name due to its geographical affiliation to the territory of the Solntsevo municipal district of the city of Moscow. Two years after the formation of the Solntsevo grouping, gangs from Chertanovo, Yasenevo and Novy Cheryomushki joined them. And a year later, the united Solntsevskaya gang reunited with the influential Orekhovskaya bandit group. From now on, they began to be called the Solntsevo-Orekhovskaya group. The father of the Moscow Region mafia was Sergei Timofeev, nicknamed Sylvester. His gang consisted of about two hundred and twenty people. And this number grew every year. By 1994, there were about three hundred and twenty members of the gang. The criminal coalition also included the "Kuntsevskaya" gang, the leader of which was Lexic, and the "Kemerovo" group led by the Italians.
With such an army, the Solntsevskaya criminal group quickly overwhelmed numerous areas of entrepreneurial activity and big business. Fearlessness, arrogance and outright cruelty have become the main calling cards of the bandits. To confront them was to sign my own death warrant. The "Havana" and "Bombay" restaurants were under the "patronage" of the brutal gang. Also, the casino "Maxim" and numerous beer bars located on Udaltsova Street have become a lucrative article for the group. The Salut Hotel was included in the list of successful income items of the enterprising Solntsevskaya gangsters. The thriving gambling business, located in the Gagarinsky district of Moscow, was also “carefully” “under the roof” of the Moscow Region mafia. But all this was not enough for them. The gangster community grew by leaps and bounds, along with this grew their appetites. The gang went to another level. The smuggling of drugs and arms trade was established, prostitution, kidnapping and human trafficking flourished.
Legalized crime
1993 was marked for the "Solntsevskaya" gang as successful, as the criminal group took up legal activities. Now all her actions were completely legal. Leotards stretched out at the knees, marked with the familiar Adidas logo, and permanent trainers on the feet have now been replaced by Armani business suits. More than a hundred organizations with various types of activity and more than one hundred and twenty banks were opened throughout Russia. Now the city of Moscow was not enough for the gang. The sphere of influence has expanded beyond it. Pushkin and Odintsovsky districts of Moscow were taken under the "roof".
The gang earned money on everything, starting with small “thimblers” and ending with big businessmen. So, "Solntsevskaya" trampled under themselves the car market "Solntsevo", taxi drivers working in a taxi on the territory of the Kiev railway station, the airports "Sheremetyevo-2" and "Vnukovo". Hotels "Cosmos", "Central House of Tourists", "Universitetskaya" paid the gang a lot of money for the so-called "roof". Real estate in France, the USA, Poland and Hungary is becoming a tasty morsel for a criminal community that has grown rich on blood. The beautiful city of Vienna has become a business center for the "Solntsevskaya" mafia structure. The central office of the bloody businessmen was located here. Festive events are held in the city of Prague. People from the Moscow Region, poorly educated, with a minimal set of cultural habits, are trying to create a "higher" society, only imitating the latter, but having nothing to do with it.
Official leaders of organized crime groups
Sergey Mikhailov, nicknamed Mikhas, Viktor Averin, nicknamed Avera Sr., Alexander Averin, nicknamed Sasha-Avera, Alexander Fedulov, nicknamed Fedul. These "comrades" are considered to be the founders of the "Solntsevo" group. Sergei Mikhailov (Mikhas) came under the scrutiny of law enforcement agencies back in 1984, when he was convicted of embezzlement and perjury. His second "flight" was about suspicions of extortion and possession of weapons. But he managed to avoid the trial. In 1993, Mikhas came to the attention of the police again. This time he was suspected of involvement in the murder of Valery casino director Valery Vlasov. But again, the matter did not come to court. It is noteworthy that in 1995 Sergei Mikhailov became an honorary consul in Moscow from Costa Rica. Fortunately, he did not stay in this position because of his criminal past. In 1995, Mikhas moved to permanent residence in prosperous Switzerland. After a year of residence, he is arrested on charges of money laundering, as well as for the illegal acquisition of real estate in this country.
The Averin brothers are considered one of the founders and leaders of the Solntsevo group. Averin Sr., after watching American films, tried to build a gang in the image and likeness of the overseas mafia. His views on the structure of the gangster community were shared by both Sergei Mikhailov and Alexander Fedulov. Avera Sr. considered a mandatory event for all members of the group to visit gyms and shooting ranges. A healthy lifestyle was promoted by him everywhere. Those who used alcohol and drugs were severely punished. Over time, Aver Sr. introduced his younger brother Alexander to his gang activities. Sasha-Avera quickly joined the gang, and then became one of its main representatives. Both brothers now live abroad.
Sergey Timofeev (Sylvester) is a crime boss, the leader of the Orekhovskaya gang, founded in 1986 in Moscow. He begins his criminal activity by organizing a business. The members of his gang are engaged in gambling. Timofeev's gang is quickly becoming authoritative. She is considered by other criminal groups. In 1989, Sylvester is already familiar with Sergei Mikhailov, Viktor Averin and Yevgeny Lyustarnov. As accomplices, they were arrested on extortion charges. During the trial, everyone except Sylvester managed to evade responsibility. Timofeev was sentenced to three years in prison. He served only half of this term and was released on early release. After leaving prison, Sylvester continues his criminal activities. Thus, in a fairly short period of time, he unites many scattered small gangs into one highly organized criminal structure. This is where his talent as an organizer manifests itself. The gang immediately declares itself, subjugating large institutions and organizations in the South-West of Moscow. Sylvester enjoys great prestige among such famous thieves as Mishka Yaponchik, Petrik, Jamal, Tsirul, Otari Kvantrishvili. Friendship with them and joint criminal activity allows you to reach the heights of the criminal conjuncture. Numerous conflicts with "colleagues" provoked the organization of an attempt on the presumptuous authority. On September 12, 1994, his Mercedes-Benz car was blown up, and the leader of the Orekhovskys died. Since Sylvester had enough enemies in the criminal environment, the one who ordered the murder was never found.
Has the gang faded into history?
Today we cannot talk about the complete destruction of the criminal "Solntsevskaya" group. And, it would seem, its activity was stopped, and in the reports of law enforcement agencies there is no information about the crimes associated with this gang, it continues to exist. The organized crime group is still large-scale and influential. Its leaders live abroad and today lead the "work" of the criminal community. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Kazan, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk and many other cities and today are the arena of the criminal activities of the Solntsevo gang.
