Roman Pavlyuchenko, nicknamed "The Sleeping Giant", is a Russian footballer, a participant in the bright and unforgettable Euro 2008 for Russia. Roman gained his wild popularity because of his luxurious goals in the qualifying match against England, thanks to which the Russian team was able to break into the final tournament.
Biography
The future footballer was born in the urban-type settlement Mostovoy, on December 15, 1981. Almost immediately after his birth, the family decided to move to Karachay-Cherkessia. Young Roman spent his childhood in the small town of Ust-Dzheguta. The boy loved football and constantly played in the yard, his father noticed a mad craving for this sport and decided to send Roman to a children's and youth school.
At the age of 9, he began to study in the Pobeda team, where he spent a little over seven years. Then there was the youth team "Dynamo" Stavropol. From there he went to conquer professional football.
Career
In 2000, the giants of Russian football, including CSKA and Shinnik, drew attention to the promising boy. But Roma chose Rotor, where he spent 3 quite successful seasons for a beginner footballer. Having played 65 matches, Pavlyuchenko scored 15 goals.
At the end of 2002, Pavlyuchenko took a liking to the Moscow "Spartak", quite good money for those times was laid out for him - 700 thousand euros. And I must say, these investments were fully justified, in 189 matches the sleeping giant scored 89 goals.
In 2007, Roman performed a miracle in the national team. In an extremely important match for our team against England, Russia was 0-1 behind, and all that was needed was a victory. And in the second half, on the 58th minute, he replaced Pavlyuchenko, scoring two decisive goals and literally snatching victory from the British. Undoubtedly, this match was the most successful for Roman, all the fans of our team immediately drew attention to it.
Already at the European Championship, our team performed another miracle, reaching the playoffs for the Netherlands national team. Our guys were able to pass such a formidable opponent and secure a place in the semifinals. Despite the fact that in the next match the Russian national team lost to the future champions the Spaniards, the guys returned home as heroes.
After the successful European Championship, many of this team went to conquer European football. Roman Pavlyuchenko did not stand aside either. Immediately after the tournament, Roma moved to one of the English giants - Tottenham.
In the English club Pavlyuchenko played 112 matches and scored 42 goals. This, perhaps, was the peak of his career, after Tottenham he returned to Russia and became a player of Moscow Lokomotiv.
Behind him was Kuban, Ural, and then the semi-amateur club Ararat from Moscow, which existed for only one year. Pavlyuchenko finished playing for the national team in 2013, and at the club level he does not currently have a permanent job, being a free agent.
Personal life
Roman's wife has known him since childhood - they went to school together since the age of 12. In 2001, the wedding took place, and by 2018, the happy husband had become the father of three adorable girls. Moreover, Pavlyuchenko has never been in the center of attention of the scandalous press or gossip, the family has always been in the first place for him. There are many tattoos on the body of a football player, and each of them is somehow related to the family.
