Humanity has a craving to expand any boundaries. This applies to geopolitical boundaries, cultural ties and even space achievements; the conquest of new frontiers is called expansion. Translated from Latin, the word expansio means "spread, expansion".
Instructions
Step 1
Since the time of the caveman, people have been looking for the most attractive conditions for their existence. Having settled down in a comfortable habitat, man gradually devastated food, water and mineral resources of nature.
Step 2
Consequently, living in the same isolated territory was threatened with hunger. People were forced to climb further, stepping on new, unexplored lands. In the future, the needs of man increased. To the shortage of food was added the need for the creation of weapons and clothing, for the extraction of building materials. This encouraged people to move forward. Need has become the main reason for biological expansion. Now this kind of expansion of the boundaries of the habitat is inherent in many animal populations.
Step 3
Unlike some species of animals, man is a social being. Interacting with other nations, the people deal with their cultural values. Through the exchange of experience, peoples get to know the life and culture of other countries. Some elements of culture are accepted, some are completely replaced by the traditions and customs of other countries. Currently, there is an expansion of Western cultural values into Russia. The Russian population eagerly absorbs the manners of communication, fashion, art and culture of European countries. Cultural and political scientists argue about the possible harm of expansion from the West. Some figures are sure that the influence of Europe can completely and completely absorb the development of the primordial Russian culture.
Step 4
Ethnic expansion entails an expansion of the economic and political range. Most of the conquests, colonizations and wars are associated with this type of expansion. Ethnic expansion is a subject of debate among scholarly historians. Some of them argue that the expansion of political boundaries is associated with an increase in population. The people become cramped in the territory they occupy, and the rulers need to annex additional lands to their state. Other scholars object. They believe that the conquerors enslave other countries out of a desire to increase their political influence and power.
Step 5
The phenomenon of expansion is currently poorly understood. It lies at the junction of several sciences: humanities, biological and social. That is why scientists are still arguing about the origin and causes of the phenomenon.
