Living wage

According to Russian legislation, the minimum pension assigned to citizens of the country should not be lower than the subsistence level. Otherwise, the pensioner is entitled to a social supplement in the amount necessary to achieve the amount of the living wage. This size is individual and depends on the region of residence. The average living wage in the country is 6354 rubles, the same as in the Republic of Buryatia. In the Northwestern Federal District, the average pension, taking into account social supplements, ranges from 6200 to 13000 rubles per month. And in Moscow, the minimum pension is 8502 rubles.

The minimum wage in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is 9541 and 12132 rubles, depending on zones 1 and 2.

Insurance and funded parts

Labor pension consists of two parts - insurance and funded. The insurance part of the pension is paid monthly by the employer to the budget of the Pension Fund of Russia. This pension is similar to a virtual account, since the citizen does not see the actual money, it goes to insured events and payments to today's pensioners. And their number is 40 million and is increasing every year. Such a payment system is called a pay-as-you-go or generational solidarity system, as it is now popularly called.

A citizen can change the size of the funded part. At the moment, it can be increased from 2% to 6%. The employer also sends the amount of the funded part to the employee's pension account. But this money no longer goes to pay into the general treasury, but is accumulated and invested in an individual account. This amount will be paid at the onset of retirement age. Each person can independently choose the Non-State Pension Fund for their funded part of the pension.

The old-age pension can be increased in the event of government reforms, when a pensioner becomes dependent, and also when he reaches the age of eighty. A retired citizen can continue to work, increasing the funded and insurance parts.

Social pension

In 2014, the social pension for disabled people from childhood and disabled children of the 1st group increased by almost 70% and amounted to 8704 rubles.

In addition to the labor pension, there is a social pension that is paid to people with disabilities and orphans. Citizens receive this pension upon reaching a certain age and having five years of work experience, as well as this pension is due to disabled people and orphans. In the absence of the required length of service, a minimum social pension is assigned. In 2014, this minimum was increased by 5.5%. And disabled people of the 2nd group, children who have lost one of their parents, as well as men who have reached the age of 60, and women - 65, received 3626 rubles instead of 2562 rubles, thanks to a 42% increase in pension. The average social pension in Russia for 2014 is 6170 rubles.
