The form of collecting donations can be an auction. Ask guests to bring with them items they are willing to sell. Collect things in a separate box and present each one in turn, name the starting price. Whoever is willing to pay the highest price for a given thing will get it.

You can also collect donations outside. To do this, you need to show what you are asking for money for. For example, if you need money to treat a dog, then it is advisable to take it with you so that people can see who they are spending money on.
