Charismatic preacher Kenneth Hagin is the father of the Word of Faith movement. Healed healer, prophet and teacher. The man who stood up for prosperity and argued with Jesus about the interpretation of the Bible.
Kenneth Hagin is a renowned religious preacher whose work in the service of the Lord has made significant contributions to Christianity in the United States of America. The world is known as an interpreter of the Bible, the creator of the Bible school, prophet and healer.
As a preacher of prosperity, he condemned those who held extreme views on this issue. To help his followers understand the doctrine of prosperity and maintain balance in the Christian life, he published The Touch of King Midas. Pupils who did not heed his recommendations were indeed punished. They faced negative public opinion and the media, and came under investigation by the Senate.
A family
Kenneth Erwin Hagin is from McKeaney, Texas. Born into the family of Lilia Viola Drake Hagin and Jes Hagin on August 20, 1917. Despite the fact that their father abandoned them when the boy was six years old, Hagin himself had a full-fledged family - wife Oret Rooker, son Kenneth Wayne Hagin and daughter Patricia Harrison.
The preacher's way
Born with a congenital heart defect so weak that he was mistaken for dead by an obstetrician. By the age of sixteen, the disease confined him to bed. This became the starting point of his life path. It was during this period that he descended into hell three times and was healed by Jesus.
After leaving school, he became a preacher in the parish church of Roland. Raised in a Baptist environment, Hagen was more inclined towards the Full Gospel churches and their teachings about divine healing. In 1937 he converted to Pentecostalism and began serving in the Assemblies of God. After that, his ministries became even more incredible. According to Hagen, during his sermons, people floated in the air, fell into a cataleptic trance, and there were even cases of healing and resurrection.
In 1949 he reads his last sermon as the pastor of the Assemblies of God. The independent activity of a Bible interpreter begins. Kenneth Hagen not only read the New Testament over a hundred times, but also received visions and revelations.
The first appearance of Jesus was in the fall of 1950. It was accompanied by ascension to heaven and descent into the underworld. This event took place in front of many witnesses, and, according to them, they even heard Hagen read the text of the scroll given to him by the angel. Kenneth Hagan talked about eight encounters with Christ. Several were for instruction, and during some of them he even argued with Christ about the interpretation of various sections of the Bible and demanded proof of the correctness of Jesus. He had to teach the church everything that Jesus taught and instructed him.
In the 1960s, Kenneth organized the World Evangelism mission, and in 1974 he and his son opened the Rem Bible School.
Punishment for unbelievers
At the beginning of his career, Hagen ascended above the earth at one of the services, but his own wife and two other people doubted him. During prayer, Kenneth received “the word of the Lord” with a decree to touch those who doubted. All three were paralyzed as a result. He was able to remove paralysis from them only after they recognized that all this was the power of God.
Creation
During his life, Kenneth Hagan wrote dozens of books. He takes his visions and encounters with Christ as the basis for his books. He devoted three of them entirely to the experiences and descriptions of these phenomena. Describes Jesus' appearance in his hospital when God allowed the devil to wound him in order to attract Kenneth's attention. Explains in detail how Jesus promised to make him rich and fulfilled his promise. From the books it becomes clear that Christ visited him in difficult periods of his life and gave him new knowledge and instructions, obliging him to conduct the work of the prophet.
