Alexander Kosmodemyansky was born in July 1925. Like his sister Zoya, he was born in the countryside, which now belongs to the Tambov region. Alexander and Zoya had a mom and a dad - Olga and Anatoly.

Then the family was forced to move to Siberia. So decided the husband and wife - Olga and Anatoly. According to the testimony of Alexander Anatolyevich's aunt, Lyubov Kosmodemyanskaya, this happened due to the fact that the head of the family, Anatoly Kosmodemyanskiy, at one time opposed collectivization. Later, some publications wrote that the family was exiled to Siberia, but Aunt Alexandra - Lyubov, claimed that the family was afraid of denunciation.

Most likely, the latest version is correct. If the Kosmodemyanskys were exiled to Siberia, it would not be for such a short time.

Indeed, in 1930 they had already moved to Moscow. In due time, Alexander went to school here, received a good education for those times, having finished 10 classes. When the boy was 8 years old, his father passed away. The man died during the operation.

So Olga Kosmodemyanskaya was left alone with children in her arms. But the guys did their best to help their mother.

Zoya Anatolyevna Kosmodemyanskaya accomplished her legendary feat at the end of November 1941. Having learned about how his sister died, Alexander submitted a request to be sent to the front. The young man had not yet turned 17 at that time. His request was granted.

So Alexander Anatolyevich Kosmodemyansky got into the army. First, he studied at a tank school in Ulyanovsk. Here the young man was awarded the rank of junior lieutenant.

By that time, Zoya's feat was widely known, so her brother was entrusted with driving a heavy KV tank. On it, the young man performed several feats of arms. On this heavy installation, Alexander made the inscription "for Zoya." He was determined to avenge his sister's death.

By the way, many Soviet soldiers made such inscriptions on their tanks, since the girl's feat inspired them to other heroic deeds.

Alexander Kosmodemyansky began to participate in hostilities in October 1943. Together with his comrades, he destroyed guns, dugouts, and self-propelled equipment of the enemy. Especially Alexander Anatolyevich Kosmodemyansky distinguished himself during the assault on Konigsberg. When he was driving a self-propelled artillery unit (ACS). On this technique, on April 6, 1945, he crossed the Landgraben Canal. The brave young man destroyed the fascist battery and held the position until the crossing of the bridge was established.

There were still many heroic battles, but the last battle of Alexander took place on April 13, 1945. By that time, the senior lieutenant was already able to destroy almost a company of infantry and 4 enemy weapons.

When his self-propelled gun was knocked out, the young man managed to get out of here and helped the infantry to capture a key enemy stronghold. This was the last battle, as a result of which Alexander Kosmodemyanskiy was mortally wounded.

Soon he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, was awarded the Order of Lenin, but posthumously.
