Alexandra Vladimirovna Khoroshilova is a heroine of the Great Patriotic War, one of the legendary "Night Witches". After the war, Alexandra taught for a long time at the Odessa Higher Marine Engineering School.
Biography
Sasha was born into a poor family of peasants on February 2, 1922, graduated from the seven-year school, and then entered the pedagogical school. She was accepted without exams as an excellent student. The girl studied almost desperately, although times were difficult and hungry. But she understood that she wanted to achieve a lot in life.
At the school, Alexandra demonstrated hard work and perseverance, moreover, she joined the Komsomol and was actively involved in social activities. And therefore, having received a college diploma, again as an excellent student and an activist, she was sent to Moscow for free to continue her education.
Military career
"Dunkin regiment" - so jokingly and lovingly they called a detachment of brave pilots under the leadership of Evdokia Davydovna, whom the whole world knows as "Night Witches" who bring real panic to the enemy. The forty-sixth Taman regiment carried out raids exclusively at night, before diving, turning off the engines of its light "cornmen" and silently attacking enemy positions.
The heroism of these often very young women is undeniable, their names have become legendary. It was here that the beautiful Sasha began and victoriously finished her combat path, liberating the Caucasus, Crimea and Belarus, reaching Germany, finding her love and writing her name in history.
From the very beginning of the war, Alexandra Khoroshilova strove to get to the front. She wanted to be a pilot, but only those who completed three institute courses were taken to study in the navigator group. Sasha lacked a year, and she was sent to the military.
Having brilliantly graduated from these courses, Alexandra received the position of an armament technician and was assigned to the very famous forty-sixth Guards night regiment by the Komsomol organizer, and soon mastered the skills of a navigator and began flying with her comrades-in-arms. On account of the Komsomol organizer Khoroshilova, the youngest woman in the regiment's height, more than a hundred combat missions, the Order of the Red Banner and the Patriotic War.
Life after the war
Before the Victory itself, Alexandra arranged her personal life. She met Sergei Arkhangelsky, a fearless artilleryman who has always admired the exploits of the Night Witches. Sasha married him and took her husband's surname.
After demobilization, the Arkhangelskys moved to Kuznetsk. Sergei continued his military service, and his award-winning wife decided to graduate from the Pedagogical Institute. Later, the couple moved to Kuibyshev, where Alexandra Vladimirovna taught a school history course and seriously studied political economy.
Later, the family moved to Odessa, where Alexandra received her doctorate and became one of the brightest teachers of the Odessa Higher Engineering School, receiving the title of an honorary citizen of this city. Alexandra passed away in 1997, leaving behind many wonderful students and a fond memory for many years.
