The scandal surrounding American producer Harvey Weinstein, who was accused of numerous harassment and rape, made the concept of "harassment" popular. All over the world, women began to publicly declare harassment by politicians, actors, and producers.

- James Toback: 38 victims of the filmmaker spoke about the harassment. All confessions were recorded. Among the offended were both women and men. Toback met girls on the streets, offered them a career in the cinema, and then asked obscene questions, committed sexual acts.
- Ed Westwick: he was charged with rape by three girls at once. The first was Kristen Cohen. The actresses said that every time they were alone with Ed, he tried to press them against the wall and kiss them.
- Brett Ratner: American filmmaker and producer turned down Warner Bros. after six women accused him of sexual harassment.
It should be noted that 2017 was a busy year for scandals. For example, Conde Nast, which publishes magazines around the world, stopped working with American photographer Terry Richardson due to sexual harassment scandals.
Long-standing stories also began to surface: the writer Anna Graham Hunter stated that Dustin Hoffman molested the girl when she was 17 years old. At that time, she did an internship as an assistant producer on the set of the film "Death of a Salesman" (1985).
In March 2018, a member of the ruling South Korean party and governor of one of the provinces, Ahn Hee Jong, resigned after being accused of rape. When the allegations hit TV spots, the politician was expelled from the Democratic Party. Kim Chi Eun's assistant told about the incident, who said: An forced her to have sex four times. The last one took place on February 28th.
In the United States, nearly two dozen women have talked about the harassment of President Donald Trump. The leader himself does not try to deny this. Senator Al Franken from Minnesota, Democratic Representative from Colorado Paul Rosenthal and many others were also indicted in America. All of them deny their guilt, to this day it remains a mystery whether they will be punished.
How are things going in Russia?
Until 2018, sex scandals bypassed Russia. One of the most high-profile cases broke out on February 28, 2018, when several journalists at once accused State Duma Deputy Leonid Slutsky of harassment. Ksenia Sobchak, armed with the support of journalists, demanded that the speaker of the Duma Vyacheslav Volodin discuss the deputy's behavior at the State Duma commission on ethics.
On March 21, 2018, the Commission considered the issue, but no violations were found in the deputy's behavior. According to experts, the appeal was planned and purposeful, since it happened during the presidential elections. Slutsky himself denies the directed accusations, calling them a provocation. Note that in Russia, harassment is perceived as outright sexual harassment.
