The main distinguishing feature of any nation is its language. People simply cannot exist without language, because all communication is “tied” to it. If there was no language, people simply would not be able to agree.

Step 1

There are many peoples in the world, both inhabiting a vast territory and living in a relatively small area, both numerous and small. Each nation has characteristic features inherent only to it, relating literally to all aspects of life: family relations, customs, traditions, demeanor.

Step 2

Why does the language play such an important role in the life of the people? At first glance, the answer is very simple: it is impossible to communicate with each other without language! But this is only part of the truth. The fact is that with the help of language, a continuous process of education and training of all new and new generations is carried out, instilling in them the very customs, traditions, values that form national identity, a way of life.

Step 3

Telling about the history of their people, about their achievements, glorious and tragic pages, the older generations instill in the younger generation pride in their people, the desire to be worthy of its best sons and daughters. Without this, there can be no question of the continuity of generations or of patriotism. But it is the continuity of generations and patriotism that make it possible for the people to survive, to avoid assimilation with the more numerous surrounding peoples, for example.

Step 4

Language makes it possible to form specific folk traits, peculiarities of mentality. It is no coincidence that even neighboring peoples living in practically the same geographical and climatic conditions, leading a similar way of life, often differ from each other literally in everything, first of all, in the manner of behavior and communication, habits, and character traits.

Step 5

Of course, all of the above does not mean that you need to "isolate yourself" from other languages, avoid communicating with other peoples, or arrogantly consider only your language, your habits and traditions as the best and correct. World history shows that any people, even powerful and numerous, isolating themselves from other nations, gradually weakens and ultimately turns out to be uncompetitive.

Step 6

Love for your language, your customs and traditions should not take the form of chauvinism. It is only necessary, when communicating with other peoples, to adopt from them only the useful, not the harmful. Then the people become stronger, and their language is enriched with new words. For example, in the Russian language there are many words of foreign origin, and this only made it richer and more imaginative. Every year the dictionary of the Russian language is replenished with new words and phrases.
