Every person once in his life, and maybe more than once, has a need to write a poem. Whether for a gift postcard, for a lost love, or for a mood. If there is a desire, but inspiration is late, there are several ways to rush it and create a beautiful piece.

Step 1
Chances are, you have already identified the future purpose of the poem. If not, then it's time to decide, both the content and the success of the piece depend on it. Even if you are writing “for yourself,” say it to yourself right away.
Choose a topic that you understand, do not write about what you know only by hearsay.
Step 2
Determine the "highlight" of the poem. It may be one word, it may be some kind of vague image, even the form and method of rhyming, or some unusual rhythm. If you still do not hear or see this "zest" of the work, then take a walk, look around, listen to the world around you and to yourself, to your own pulse. Surely something will appear.
Step 3
If a start has been made and the first thought is found, start writing. The volume should correspond to the set goal: for example, in a greeting card, you do not need to spread thoughts along a tree of lines for forty lines. Remember the classic: "Brevity is the sister of talent."
Step 4
When you finish, read the poem aloud. If you are embarrassed to read in front of witnesses, read in private, but be sure to read. Perhaps you will see some flaws and clumsy phrases that you did not hear with your inner ear. Correct, read again. And so - until you understand that the work is ready. It may never seem perfect, but you are still only striving for it.
