Why is the profession of a journalist beneficial? The fact that in addition to presenting real facts, you can promote your views and through the media, which have a large coverage of the population, actively introduce them into the minds of people. That is, subjectivity is quite possible in this profession.
This phenomenon is clearly seen in the example of the work of journalist Alexander Nikonov. According to Wikipedia, he holds right-wing liberal views. That is, he stands for the rights and personal freedoms of a person, which must be unquestioningly unshakable. He is also a supporter of transhumanism - a person who has his own opinion on everything and strives to improve his lifestyle through modern technology. Another area of the journalist's conviction is libertianism. Well, this is very interesting: maximum political freedom and so on.
Freedom-loving journalist
In general, we can say that Nikonov is a person who passionately wants to get complete freedom of action, thoughts, desires. Perhaps something else that he has not yet voiced.
At least he wants the prostitutes to be free for their activities; drug addicts for their pleasure; everyone else who wants to get rid of an unnecessary burden - sick children, for example, by applying euthanasia to them.
Only now the question arises: what is freedom for him? Conscious necessity, like the classics, or complete unbridledness, like some theorists? You probably need to read the creations of a journalist to understand this.
Moreover, Nikonov is very prolific: quite a few books with unusual titles came out from under his pen, which scream about freedom. He also published a lot in leading Russian newspapers and magazines.
For his work he received many awards - I want to believe that he deserved it. Thus, he has the Pushkin Jubilee Medal (1999); in 2001 he received the Prize of the Union of Journalists of Russia for special services to national journalism, in 2002 he repeated this success. Then there was a big break in the awards, and then again: in 2005 - the Belyaev Prize for the book "Monkey Upgrade", which was later banned; in 2010 he became a laureate of the "Nonconformism" award. He received this award for the novel Anna Karenina, a female. Poor Lev Nikolayevich … He was not just a non-conformist, although how to say … Since then, awards have bypassed the journalist.
Biography
Alexander Petrovich Nikonov was born in Moscow in 1964 in an ordinary family. He did not plan to become a journalist and did not dream - this is evident from the education he received. After leaving school, Sasha entered the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys to study the science of steel and alloys. He graduated from the university, but did not become a steelmaker - he was drawn to pen and paper.
He wrote a lot and passionately, and on this basis he met the controversial journalist Dmitry Bykov. And in 1996, together with a friend, they fell under a criminal case for publishing an appendix to the "Interlocutor". The application was called quite harmlessly - "Mother", but its content was not entirely harmless. It was an obscene newspaper, and it is forbidden to use obscene language in the press in the Russian Federation.
In this regard, I would like to quote Anton Pavlovich Chekhov that everything in a person should be fine. But you can't - what if transhumanists and libertians get offended? And if right-wing liberals join them, something incredible can begin.
By the way, the fact of the criminal case does not appear in Bykov's biography, but Nikonov does. However, this is not the only fact of persecution of a freedom-loving journalist. In 2009, the prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg ordered the withdrawal from sale of Nikonov's book "Monkey Upgrade". The servants of the order saw in it a call for the legalization of drugs. The book was withdrawn from sale, which caused considerable material damage to the writer. But he did not give up: a year later the same book was published under the title "The Crown of Creation in the Interior of the Universe." True, Nikonov removed the chapter on drugs from the book, it is not clear why. Where is freedom of speech and belief?
Career and beliefs
However, freedom of belief is such a relative concept that, apparently, Alexander himself doubted it. Otherwise, why would he be the head of the Atheist Society of Moscow (ATOM)? It turns out that he opposes the human right to believe in God? The inconsistency is obtained. In the letter of the Executive Committee of the Atom to the President of the Russian Federation Putin, it is said that the church conducts monopoly ideological propaganda and imposes its religious views on people. In a letter, the Moscow atheists called this activity unceremonious, rude and categorical.
As can be seen from this letter, opponents of religious propaganda advocate for atheism to reign in Russia. Well, that's their right. And the right of believers is to believe.
However, as for Alexander Nikonov, he did not stop at the activities of the society, whose voice is not very audible. In 2013, he took over as chairman of the Federal Political Council of the Russia Without Obscurantism party. The party's activities seem to be mostly virtual. "Russia without obscurantism" has pages on social networks, although nothing has been posted on VK for a long time. The OK activity is quite active - more than eight thousand subscribers. The party defines obscurantism as "hostile attitude to education, science, progress."
The controversial journalist is engaged in a variety of activities: he was the host of the "Polite People" program on NTV, took part in the "Meeting Place" show with Andrei Norkin.
He wrote a lot about euthanasia for children who were born with pathologies that prevent them from developing into a full-fledged personality, which caused public outcry.
Nikonov also meets with readers and conveys to them his views and beliefs. Surely he finds his supporters - after all, the world is rich in its diversity.
He has supporters among journalists, although there are also opponents. Some of them directly said that they wish him not only moral condemnation, but also a real prison term. Time will tell who is right and who is wrong.
