Biography
The family of the famous organist has always been associated with music. When Catherine was 4 years old, the first attempts to create something resembling music were noticed behind her. At the age of 9, she managed to come up with her own ballet.
Melnikova studied music at a specialized school for musicians, where she studied from primary school to secondary education. She showed herself excellently in two specialties: possession of the organ and musicology. Then she was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music in London as a graduate student.
In 2005, she took the place of head of organ in the Moscow Cathedral, and worked in this position for 3 years. Then she moved to the Russian Academy of Music for the sake of teaching improvisation on the organ, already beloved by Ekaterina Aleksandrovna.
Concerts
After moving to England to work as a graduate student, Melnikova remained there for a long time. Due to this geographical location, most of Catherine's tours took place in European countries. She has performed for most of the most influential and famous European organ organizations.
Until now, he annually takes part in foreign concerts dedicated to playing the organ. Also, the creative activity of Ekaterina Alexandrovna did not bypass her Motherland - Russia. She managed to visit the most famous Russian cities with concerts - Moscow and St. Petersburg many times.
Starting in 2009, in many concert organizations in Moscow and other "millionaire cities" of Russia, Melnikova is very active in showing a master class of playing her best musical instrument. She turned out to be the very first Russian musician who abandoned the controlled organization of concerts, Ekaterina switched to unique demonstration performances. The performer does not even cover her personal life on pages on social networks.
Musical achievements
Ekaterina Aleksandrovna turned out to be the discoverer of the combination of organ music and Indian folk dance culture. Remarkably, all movements were performed personally by Melnikova. No one except her showed the work of the Soviet composer Mikael Tariverdiev to foreign audiences.
In the United States of America, the famous organ performer is known for her musical transcriptions. She is the only Russian organist who managed to reach the western continent with her work.
