Fans treat the work of the talented artist with love and respect, for them Alexander Grigorievich will forever remain the most beloved performer of the still popular hits of the 70s-80s.
Alexander Grigorievich Tikhanovich was born on July 13, 1952 in the city of Minsk, Belarusian SSR. He studied at the Minsk Suvorov School, where from the second grade he began to study in a brass band in order to skip lessons, which he did not like so much. Soon, Alexander liked this occupation, and he never parted with the wind instrument.
After college he graduated from the Belarusian Conservatory, department - trumpet.
After serving in the army (1971-1973), the young musician created the group "Minsk", which played in the style of jazz-rock, where he worked for about a year. This direction in music at that time turned out to be irrelevant, and the group broke up.
In 1973, Alexander Tikhanovich fell in love with a young, talented and very beautiful artist Yadviga Poplavskaya, who was one of the founders of the Verasy vocal and instrumental ensemble.
Initially, it was an exclusively female group, led by composer Vasily Rainchik (former member of the "Minsk" group), who decided to make VIA mixed. Therefore, he invited Alexander Grigorievich to play the guitar and trumpet, as well as perform vocal parts.
In 1979, the musician was lucky enough to perform on the same stage with the famous American singer Dean Reed. VIA accompanied the foreign star during a large tour of the USSR.
Career and personal life
Alexander and Yadviga for a long time became the main performers of the popular group. The most famous songs of the ensemble for 15 years: "Robin", "I live with my grandmother", "White Snow" ("Zavirukha") and many others. Tours and rehearsals began to bring young people closer together, and Poplavskaya drew attention to the guy in love.
In 1975, the couple signed and created a new unit of Soviet society. In the Central Wedding Palace, Yadviga doubted the correctness of her decision to get married, but thinking that she would always have time to divorce, she gave her consent to the marriage. The life of the newlyweds began with difficulties. The young wife managed to cook the first courses in the sink, and fry the meat on the iron.
Blows of fate

While touring Central Asia, Alexander Tikhanovich was put a bag of marijuana in the pocket of his concert trousers. The police were called, and a search began. By a lucky coincidence, Tikhanovich put on a different concert costume, which saved him from prison, but not from shame. All newspapers were full of headlines that Alexander Grigorievich was involved in drug trafficking and would be convicted to the fullest extent of the law.
On October 8, 1986, the artist was arrested right on the street and locked in a pre-trial detention cell for three days. Then there was a trial, Alexander was acquitted and reinstated at his former place of work.
The artist decided to leave VIA, followed by his devoted wife Poplavskaya. In 1987, they received an offer to work in the State Orchestra of Belarus under the baton of Mikhail Yakovlevich Finberg, where they were expected to be backing vocalists.
