Why not become an actor? No sooner said than done. Grabbe successfully passed the selection, liking S. Eisenstein himself, who highly appreciated the young man's abilities.
But soon the war began. Grabbe became a participant in a harsh battle on a difficult labor front. I had to work near Vyazma, then - in the vicinity of Podolsk. In 1942, the institute went into forced evacuation. I had to go to Alma-Ata. But Nikolai finished his studies again in Moscow.

Having received the coveted diploma in 1943, Nikolai Karlovich became a full-time employee of the Soyuzdetfilm studio. Then he served in the famous theater-studio of the film actor. He was also an actor at the studio. M. Gorky.
