Recently, modern filmmakers have begun to often shoot films about the time, which is commonly called the "thaw". This period lasted conditionally from the late 50s to 1968. The filmmakers unmistakably felt the public demand, understood that the viewer's heart responds to this topic. The "golden fund" of Russian cinema includes films shot at this time.
We rarely like the times we live in. But there are times when we believe in a bright future. This was the Soviet Union of the late 50s - early 60s. After the difficult war and post-war years, the new life was supposed to be fun, honest, spiritual, and varied. The future looked dazzlingly beautiful. It was impossible to afford to live everyday life, dull, boring, unhappy.
Society demanded to live recklessly, actively, with full dedication, so that passions boil and muscles play. Space opened up its expanses, rivers obeyed human will, poets gathered full halls, Soviet scientists made amazing discoveries. Evil seemed like an abnormal exception from the normal world and did not darken the holiday.
The moral qualities of the movie characters were high, the relationship between them was built according to the strictest moral criteria. The charm of courageous, selfless, infallibly honest men was irresistible; their girlfriends drove the audience crazy with their thin waists, fluffy skirts and high hairstyles. But the most important thing was that light feeling that warmed the soul of the viewer, inspired and evoked.
With nostalgia, with an aching desire to find ourselves in that atmosphere of celebration, spring purity, faith in a brighter future, we revisit old films.
