Russia's eastern neighbors are China, Mongolia, North Korea and Japan. The culture of these countries has common features, for example, reverence for family traditions, respect for the older generation.
China
China is the largest eastern Russia. Population of a billion people. In a short period of time, China has experienced a powerful boost to economic development and now has the second largest GDP. Most recently, this country was considered backward, but over a decade it has grown into a world power.
The religions existing in the country influenced the Chinese culture: Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. Also in China there are professors of Christianity and Islam.
China is the only communist country in the world. Moreover, the Chinese have achieved a combination of capitalism and communism, which led to prosperity.
Mongolia
Mongolia has a border length with Russia of almost 3, 5 thousand kilometers. This country is in many ways amazing and extraordinary. In one part of the state, you can contemplate mountains, hilly plains, and in the other - sandy deserts. The climate, vegetation and peace have been shaped by the taiga forests and deserts.
Most of the Mongols are Buddhists. However, shamanism has survived in some parts of the country. The number of people professing Islam is due to the presence of a large number of Kazakhs who immigrated to Mongolia. There are also about 50 thousand Christians in the country.
The basis of Mongolian culture is nomadism. Many families still lead this way of life. Special seasonal schools have been created for them to receive education without leaving their families. The culture was influenced by China, as Mongolia was part of the Qing Empire from 1636 to 1911.
North Korea
North Korea is Russia's smallest eastern neighbor. The area of the country is just over 120 million square kilometers. Until graduation, it was part of Japan.
North Korea is a closed state. Also poses a nuclear threat, on a par with Iran. However, the quality of nuclear weapons is much inferior to the United States and Russia. During the Soviet era, Korea had the support of Russia, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, relations between the countries cooled. The country has very tense and distrustful ties with Japan, South Korea and the United States.
North Koreans do not have access to foreign sites. Citizens are prohibited from buying foreign goods. Entry and exit from the country are also problematic.
Atheism is promoted in the country due to the established state system. The culture of the country resembles the culture of the USSR, that is, in the same socialist spirit.
Japan
Japan is the only country from its eastern neighbors that has a water border with Russia. There is still a Japanese ruling imperial house. The current Emperor Akihito is a direct descendant of Emperor Suiji, who lived in the 7th century BC. That is, the dynasty was never interrupted.
The practice of several religions is characteristic of Japan. Shinto is a Japanese belief in deities and spirits. Buddhism and Confucianism came to the country from China. Also, the Japanese adopted the writing from the Chinese.
The Japanese are respectful of elders in age and rank. They are characterized by such traits as calmness, prudence, self-sacrifice. The culture of this country is laid down in such a way that the Japanese are primarily concerned about the well-being of the people around them, society as a whole, and only then about themselves.
