Fans of comedy films know this wonderful actor by sight. A master of jokes and funny jokes, Yevgeny Morgunov will forever remain in the memory of the Russian viewer Byval, one of the participants in the famous and inseparable criminal trinity, which has not left television screens for a long time.
From the biography of Evgeny Morgunov
Evgeny Alexandrovich Morgunov was born on April 27, 1927 in Moscow. His childhood was very ordinary. The boy enthusiastically played football in the yard, spent a lot of time with friends. He was engaged in amateur performances. His teenage years fell on the Great Patriotic Won. Morgunov's father almost immediately went to the front, where he soon died.
Eugene had to help his mother. From the age of 14, he worked at a military plant, turning blanks for shells 12 hours a day. For conscientious work during the war years, Yevgeny Morgunov was awarded a diploma. But the actor himself believed all his life that in those days he did not do anything special.
The creative path of Evgeny Morgunov
Around the same years, Eugene became interested in cinema. He spent almost all his free money on going to the cinema. Often for the sake of the next picture, Morgunov sacrificed his studies at school. Gradually, a desire to become a film actor matured in him. Behind his shoulders was experience in amateur performances. To this was added work in the crowd at Mosfilm.
External circumstances hindered the dream of an actor's career: the director of the plant did not agree to let Yevgeny go. Morgunov made a radical decision: he wrote a letter to Comrade Stalin himself. A couple of weeks later, an official paper came to the plant management, where a clear order was spelled out: to send Yevgeny Alexandrovich Morgunov to work in the Chamber Theater. So Eugene became a student of the director Alexander Tairov.
Morgunov spent about a year at the theater. Basically, he got episodic roles. Over time, Eugene realized that even experience in the theater could not make up for the lack of acting education. The young actor submitted documents to VGIK. Having entered the university without much difficulty, Eugene studied under the guidance of the famous director Sergei Gerasimov.
From a young age, Yevgeny Morgunov was distinguished by his spectacular appearance. Sergei Gerasimov invited the photogenic actor to play the role of the traitor Stakhovich in the film "Young Guard".
The role of Morgunov was successful. There were rumors that for this work, Yevgeny Alexandrovich was going to be presented to the Stalin Prize. But in the end, it was decided not to perpetuate the image of the traitor to the Motherland. After a while, additional facts were revealed that shed light on the role of Stakhovich. It was decided to bring the film in line with the new data. Many episodes in which Morgunov took part were cut out.
In the early 50s, the actor, for some reason, was not trusted with big roles. Morgunov's life was turned upside down by a meeting with Leonid Gaidai. The director was looking for someone who could play the role of one of the trinity of drinking companions in a small humorous film. The director found Nikulin and Vitsin quickly. But the third place remained free. It just so happened that Yevgeny Morgunov turned out to be an ideal candidate for the role of Experienced.
As a result, the short film "Watchdog Dog and Unusual Cross" incredibly quickly glorified the whole trinity. The glory of the collective was strengthened by the short film "Moonshiners". This was followed by two more successful films with Coward, Goonies and Experienced. The legendary collective even appeared in the cartoon "The Bremen Town Musicians". However, the trio broke up when the hot-tempered Morgunov had a fight with Gaidai.
After the restructuring, the actor did not find a place in the changed domestic cinema.
Personal life of Evgeny Morgunov
Evgeny Morgunov was married twice. The ballerina Varvara Ryabtseva became his first wife. She was 13 years older than the actor. Family life was unsuccessful, the couple parted. With his second wife, Natalya, Eugene got married in 1965. In this marriage, the couple had sons Anton and Nikolai.
Evgeny Alexandrovich suffered from diabetes. In recent years, cut off from the work of his life, he did not pay attention to the diagnosis and increasingly kissed the bottle. In a short time, Morgunov suffered a stroke and two heart attacks. The actor passed away on June 25, 1999 after a second stroke.
