In team sports, it is very important to build rapport between players. This is one of the top priorities for a trainer. Similar problems are present in pair skating. Maxim Shabalin took a long time to choose a suitable partner for himself.
Starting conditions
For a child to succeed in an independent life, parents should direct their development in the right direction. Practice shows that this is not such an easy task as it seems at first glance. With equal probability, you can guess with the choice, or you can make a mistake. Maxim Andreevich Shabalin got into the figure skating section when he was four years old. He wanted to play football or boxing, but the boy was not accepted for a small age. As the subsequent turn of events showed, the parents' decision turned out to be correct.
The future world figure skating champion was born on January 25, 1982 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the famous city of Kuibyshev, which after 1991 began to be called Samara. The child grew up surrounded by attention and care. At that time, not only relatives and friends, but also state structures took care of children's health. There were free sections for children in the Sports Palace closest to the house. Maxim often suffered from colds. To strengthen his health and temper the body, the boy was enrolled in figure skating.
The road to the pedestal
At first, ice skating did not inspire Maxim. He even skipped training for disrespectful reasons. But the shrewd coach suggested that the boy take up ice dancing. A pair dance and Shabalina found a partner. Regular work began, including physical training, practicing skating techniques and other compulsory exercises. After a while, the coaches noticed that Shabalin's relationship in a pair was not working out. And soon he refused to train with his partner. In the biography of the skater, it is briefly noted that he even left for Bulgaria to create a reliable pair. It did not work out and failed.
In 1999, Shabalin began skating in tandem with Elena Khalyavina. Over the next three years, the couple rose from the third step of the podium to the first. However, this joint creativity stopped. Further, her sports career continued with Oksana Dominina. Russian figure skaters won bronze medals at the 2010 Olympics. After this victory, Shabalin announced his retirement from the ice. He was involved in coaching. The Honored Master of Sports was several times attracted to participate in the ice show "Balero", "Ice and Fire" and other similar events.
Recognition and privacy
For many years of sports activity, Maxim Shabalin was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland. This is a worthy fact of the biography.
The athlete's personal life has developed well. He is legally married to actress Irina Grineva. Husband and wife are raising a daughter. As caring parents, they plan to give her an excellent education and a decent upbringing.
