At some point, rumors began to circulate on the Web that the creators of the series intended to shoot a sequel. They even named the approximate release dates for the new season. The premiere was supposed to take place in 2013. However, neither last year, nor this year, the shooting was not started. To date, there is no official information from the developers about the possibility of continuing the picture.

Plot
The events of the picture develop in the 80s in the Soviet Union. In the center of the plot of this picture is a young Russian girl Asya. The heroine grew up in an orphanage and looked at life without much optimism. It so happened that she fell in love with the son of an Arab sheikh named Janzur. This couple was introduced by mutual acquaintances with whom they study together at the institute.
Given the difference between the mentality of the home countries of the protagonists, they understand that fate brought them together in vain. However, violent love haunts Asya and Janzuru, they want to be together and are ready for anything for this.
Love and betrayal, meetings with Arab sheikhs and Soviet diplomats, persecution, torture and many more troubles Asya will have to go through in order to be with her beloved.
Origin of the name of the series
The name of the series was given by a parable. According to the protagonist, two incompatible things can be contemplated on the pomegranate trees: the blooming of flowers and the ripening of fruits. This sight symbolizes far and near, old age and youth, West and East. The relationship between an Arab guy and a Russian girl is nothing more than an attempt to combine two extremes at one point.
Interesting facts about the series
It is noteworthy that the group of actors who worked on the same set consisted of representatives from different countries: Ukrainians, Latvians, Russians, Belarusians, Kazakhs. All these actors do not have special regalia, they are young and not too experienced.
