TV series history
Smallville is written and executive produced by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough. The idea for the series belongs to Joe Schuster and Jerry Siegel. The action takes place in the fictional American town of Smallville, located in the state of Kansas, but the shooting took place for the most part in Canada. For the role of Superman, the creators of the picture invited the young handsome and promising actor Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum, who brilliantly played the role of the main villain Lex Luthor.
Smallville is the longest comic-book science fiction series in television history.
The first episode (and trailer) of Smallville was released in 2001. Then it was watched by about 8, 4 million people. By 2006, the Americans were shown five seasons of 110 episodes. To date, ten seasons of the series have been filmed, the last of which aired in 2011. On this, its creators planned to end the victorious march of Clark Kent on TV screens, but the popularity of the series, numerous reviews and online audience voting did their job - the eleventh season will still be filmed: twenty-four new episodes will be shown this fall.
